Can we just increase polymorph cast time by like .5 sec? Or maybe give it like 2 charges on a 45 sec cd? Feels terrible trying to heal vs mage teams. Add a rogue in there and either you’re an rdruid or you’re screwed.

There is like no counter play at all vs mage teams. I think polymorph just needs adjusted. What do you guys think? Are mages fine where they are at?
Seriously though, I could see a world in which spammable cc in general had charges and a CD but you probably wouldn’t make a change like that mid-expansion.
It seems like mages probably just need to have gpyro damage reduced. 25%?
Trading fire nerfs for disc priest buffs. Since we all know it’s because of RMP.
This is not true. Mages are a tremendous problem. Vs mages teams I now have to dispell, roots, polys, and maledicts, all while the mage is doing tremendous damage and ccing the hell out of me. Not even including the LONGEST kick in the game.
So even if I’m not having to dispell, or juking the kicks, my teamates are going 100-20 8 times in a row in under 2 seconds. Forcing me to stand in the open which results in triple polies followed by a blind.
Try to LOS that poly? Nope shimmer.
Give poly a 2 second cast time, or remove shimmer from the game, or give poly a huge mana cost. Make spamming their cc actually skillful.
My guess is mages won’t be addressed in any way. Blizzard doesn’t like delving into nerfs on CC, utility, etc. They prefer either addressing damage, mana or survivability. Frost mage damage is on the lower side of viable arena classes atm. Survivability is actually pretty good imo but the only way I can realistically see to target this is further nerfing shimmer which I don’t think they’ll do.
Ideally frostbolt damage would go back up, deep freeze would come back and shimmer would just die off but I don’t see any of those 3 things happening.
Tbh ice barrier is actually the strongest it’s ever been, I think that should get nerfed for frost if anything gets touched and they decide to keep super strong slows instead of going the Legion route.
Would prefer them actually flopping when you connect, would be cool if they hit hard in that scenario too
Could be possible that this is 3v3 in the actual Nagrand Arena (i.e. the one in the open world, not instanced) and he’s playing with like a lvl 100 against triple mage. They each cast a frostbolt on like totems and then build 5 icicles. Then they all use icicles on one target and he and another partner (2 heals, 1 DPS with both heals being max level) blow all CDs healing the icicles which, against a lvl 100 DPS, each take his DPS to 20% before they top him again.
That’s the only hypothetical I can come up with which gets kinda close to that happening.
Yeah that’d def be an option. Really hate the frost mage design, almost the opposite of the “glass cannon” thing atm imo. All instant cast based, main attacks are just generators for procs & icicles, really tough to kill, slows are less about kiting during crazy scary situations and more an attrition mechanic to win dampening games, etc.
I could be happy with something like that. Fear would get the same treatment as well as cyclone. idk what I’m forgetting. Cyclone would probably differ from the other two in charges/cd time.
