You do get several of them for free, and having stat buff scrolls besides isn’t too bad.
I’m pretty sure the reagent cost was intended to be balanced for later levels.

They created 5 BR reagents for druids to deal with this issue… At level 40 the BR reagent costs 8s. We’re paying 7 for a chance.
Complaining about 5 more silver? Seriously? More like druids got short end of the stick, mages having BR doesn’t even make any sense, be grateful you have it at all…?
How will mages ever make it back??? They are so weak and can only solo entire dungeons in one pull. Please Blizz, think of the poor mages.

Mage shouldn’t even be able to rez. The fact that this exists at all is a bonus to your class.

Mages are healers in this version of the game - all healers have a rez of some sort. f you don’t like mage healers era is that way >>>>

This is nonsense word salad. Telling someone to go somewhere the classes work how they like is a response to someone non-helpfully responding to reagent costs with “you shouldn’t be able to at all”.

Well, I didn’t intend for it to be, but I’ll consider your comment to be coming from a place of good intent.
Of course you are in the right to ask for things that you would personally like to see in a game you are enjoying. I haven’t played a mage in SoD, and am curious about how it feels, and how healing works with mages. I find that rather interesting, and I’m also curious as to how they’ll scale going forward having historically been the class with the most solo dungeon content available to them, and now with healing!
Meh… it would be nice if we could discuss differences in opinion without resorting to attacking/defending as if there are real ethics or morals or other sorts of human value at stake here. It’s a game, and we have our own preferences, which as merely that: preferences.
Good luck championing your preferences! For what it’s worth, I’ve come to the opinion that I personally prefer things being more out of the way, more difficult, more time consuming, and more annoying in Classic than Retail, and I currently hold the perspective that these are all positive things for the game.

Mages are gold farming gods. I’m sure you can find seven silver under some couch cushions.
I haven’t tried AoE farming yet. Should I respec and give it a go?
So, the ability to Rez once every 30 minutes for 2 silver.
Or I can Rez anytime I want for 7?
Who wouldn’t take the 7 silver scroll so they can Rez as many people as they want?
You know how awkward it is to be a Druid Healer in a 5 man without a Pally tank?
“Ok, I can Rez one of you the entire run…the rest put those running shoes on”
It -can- be mildly frustrating that the scrolls are RNG, especially prior to 25. I think the new stuff from SoD shouldn’t be considered as just a bonus, but a core part of the design of a different iteration of WoW.
That said, it’s pretty comical to complain about 7s reagent costs when gold isn’t hard to come by, even if it ends up costing 14s-21s per rez scroll.
