There are THREE TIMES as many warlocks as mages above 2400+ in RSS
Why?
Is it because warlock players are just three times more skilled than mages? Nope.
It’s because the game is so imbalanced that even the #1 ranked mage can’t win and has to dodge warlock lobbys to get rating. It does not matter how much you outplay a warlock, as a mage, you are simply outgunned and it is LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE to win.
They are incredibly tanky, get healed from their DPS, have pets that can counterspell, can purge alter time, and their damage from chaos bolt spam eclipses a mage’s frostbolts damage output by a factor of 5x. How is this game so broken?
And why do warlocks have spell reflect? This is a warrior ability, remove this nonsense! Seriously they can just throw on spell reflect and free cast and if I counterspell them they are immune AND get a free precog.
I went 0-6 in a lobby today with a destro lock/demonology lock/ele shaman, and there was absolutely no chance to win even one round. This was at 2300 CR.

It is imperative we remember at all times that the myth of c%ster weakness in pvp is a carefully designed and orchestrated psyop by Big Warlock to shoehorn c%sters into a position of extreme relative strength in the first season of an expansion (which hasn’t happened at the beginning of an expansion since Wrath) thereby making the power gap between C%sters and Melee even more staggering in C%ster favor at the end of the expansion.

I’m not kicking air, I’m kicking a cast and warlock is the only class that has essentially a precog on demand with spell reflect, and they get another precog if I try to counterspell it.
I’m not mid I’m hiding behind a pillar and a warlock is on either side of the pillar.
Hunters also do insane damage I agree, but it’s possible to put pressure on them since they are not super tanky unlike warlocks.

Wait till you find out warlocks got a new talent to keep fear targets in place like polymorph.
Hunters also getting massive “compensation” buffs on PTR. Coming to an arena near you soon. Mages have fallen on some tough times 
One problem i see mages doing is going for their big go right as the gates open. They overwrite their own poly with a weaker poly. They never LoS. They iceblock or trinket the first sign of danger. They never save their kill go for the right moment. Mages are the zug of the caster world. And this is at 2400+ so maybe you are one of these people.

Just juke arcane surge a few go’s and watch locks blow their op defensives. After that they just fall over.

Mage is not a pure DPS class anymore, it is a support class that can do some DMG.
Any competent healer will kill a mage in a 1v1. Mage can’t stun, can’t silence, can’t heal, has no MS. Is this a pure DPS class?
People cried too much along the years that mage got nerfed and is just a meme now, with some gimmicks to aid a team, a support class.
Arcane was doing some DMG, but it got nerfed hard, it lasted like only a week.
In a team situation, sure, a frost mage banging ice lances and sheeping others might be not bad, but all in all, mage is just a trash class that only can do this. Who dies to ice lance spam only? Who does sheep kill? Or RoF?
Mage is just made to function as a support class for others, that’s why the 1% play mage, it is a great support, for sheep spams and to add some DPS.
Edit: After the DPS nerf and stamina buff, mages became even worse, all mages can do to kill someone is spam DMG and that got nerfed. So mage is now trash can ready.

Why do you think Blizz gave mages mass invisibility, with which you can cast out of stealth? Mages need to start doing big DMG, else they are not getting another shot at it, maybe. lol, remove mass invisi from arcane and I bet you would not see any mage beyond 2k, maybe.
Honestly it’s not the locks as much that I am worried about. It’s the lack of change that’s desperately needed for Warriors.
To this day I cannot understand why DK’s got punished w/ abomb limb when a Spear of Bastion, and every other tether/class ability prevents mages from blinking away. The following defensive options are available in that scenario for mages…
- Mage can pop mirror image/magic shield
- Mage can block and get instant MD’d or shattered
How mages try to get away, but get trolled:
- Mages can get globalled every easily thus forcing Frost mages to lose a 2nd block via Cold Snap if they’re quick enough.
- They alter time 30+ yards away, yet get thrown back into a spear/other tethering ability
- Every defensive (and most offensive buff abilities) gets dispelled. Literally.
- Mages are always zero targeted w/ Warrior and Hunter comps. This is especially cancerous when doing a solo shuffle and there are 2 warriors or 2 hunters. If you get lucky you’ll end up with 3 wins and zero CR gain.
- When targeted HARD and in a bind there are too many answers to blast wave knockbacks (think war spearing + blade storming)
I can go on and on, but War’s in their current pvp state are tuned too high.
Just quit mage, it is not worth it. It is worse than balance druid right now and balance druid is bad.

Ele is busted and fire is sleeper busted, but the only actual caster that’s busted is destro. IMO obviously. I like to use the demon hunter bar, and if you cast less than they do you don’t qualify as a caster.
These instant spam abominations are less casters and more like manifestations of incompetence in game design. Like a new, previously hidden type of sha.
fire is terrible.
They handicapped it because of how instant it is during combust.
