Mages broken

Wheres the patch to nerf the mages? they dominating the charts by a large amount in both single target and multi-target. they also dominating every ranged player in dungeons… this can’t stay like this can it?

Nothing to see here folks. Move along.

What charts are you looking at? I have seen mages done well but I hardly would say they were dominant.

Go look at warcraft logs then play with one. 10k dps above the rest in both MT and ST

Feels like i never encounter any mages in pve. All dps are dhs, rogues, boomkins and others, but no mages.

In my guild nyalotha run we had one mage. And he was last in skada

They completely sucked for the first half of BFA…

Let them have a moment in the sun for a change…

They were broken in EP. Now they are really broken. they are dominating ST and MT by a lot. go watch guilds that have multiple ranged and you will see mages at the very top and by 10k. i see it a lot.

How much of that is mages doing good though as opposed to more mages having access to obscene corruption traits?
Generally speaking Mages are one of the more played caster classes so realistically there is more chance of many of them having good traits.

Outside of that though it is the first week of Nyalotha currently so people don’t exactly have huge familiarity with positioning. Mages can compensate a lot for poor positioning where other classes fall behind.

more buffs to windwalker please. by class we are by far the lowest dps. if theres specs below us, they have much higher dps specs above us. windwalkers are doing terribly atm. hunters look like they might need a lil bit of love too.

What else can a mage do? They do damage. It’s their main function. If they couldn’t do that well, what else they going to do? Portal you? Give you food? Cast intellect? Haste the entire group? C’mon, they gotta have something.

Wasn’t it Legion when afflocks were dominating the charts.
People posted about it, but locks didn’t think it was a problem.

Now since you guys aren’t the top, you start to post concerns?

“Your damage is infinitely huge, but that is pretty much all that you’re known for.”

~That’s the WoW that you play

Thats why I stopped playing my monk. Tyrannical weeks as WW was depressing. Strugggle to keep up on most bosses

warlocks are in a bad spot right now, we all know and recognize that, but that doesnt mean mages are OP or overtuned either.

Wow, I had no idea frost mages were literally bottom tier. I knew it was bad but I thought they would be middle of the pack at least.

Arcane is also a bit on the low end, but is doing significantly better than frost.

Fire is a clear outlier, but that’s more of an issue with the mechagon bracers and its interaction with fire blast, lucid dreams, and blaster master all during combustion. Any fire mage without those bracers won’t be seeing such huge numbers.

It’s disappointing when a spec requires a specific (titanforged) drop to be competitive. I’d like to see those bracers nerfed and have any specs reliant on specific items like that to be adjusted so they’re competitive without requiring insane luck with drops.

I see a good mix of classes being represented toward the top. I think its best to wait a couple more weeks to see how everything settles. The charts show fire mage doing well, but its not as dominant as you make it out to be. Once we have more people geared and data, then blizzard should consider nerfs/buffs.

dont worry they’ve been ruining pvp the last 2 seasons also :~)

Haven’t mages been known as “glass cannons” for literally years?
