Mages are solo pulling all of WC for massive AOE farms

They are able to pull literally the entire instance and AoE all of the mobs, and are selling boosts already on all servers. We need the SoM changes to combat this behavior ASAP.

For reference, Season of Mastery had changes that made it impossible for Mages to AoE solo dungeons.

Your point, they were doing that in Mara 4 years ago after it opened.

Mages are the ultimate hustle class.

You sell AOE Farms.

You sell Portals.

You sell Food/Water.

I’ve seen the videos. It’s really specific and takes some skill to pull off. I’d imagine it takes hella amount of pulls to get right. Not worth the frustration

Mage Players were most likely the kid in school that sold soda cans out of their locker.

I get solo’d by hunter pets and anything that breaths. It all works out

Lol it’s funny to me that everyone seemingly figured out overnight that mages were the most efficient farmers.

One day in Classic, and BAM, everyone’s boosting with mages.

The only place I remember mages doing this in actual Vanilla was that place in Tanaris with the pirate cove, AoE farming there for rep and cloth.

Mages weren’t pulling the entirety of Zul’farrak and AoE’ing it down in real Vanilla. That’s a Classic thing.

As long as bots can’t do it, this is fine.

Mage bots are too busy single pulling all of Stockades flying through the walls to bother with SFK.

It’s fine #notamage

but they are? all of those 25 mage bots running in and out of stockades are fly hacking. there’s plenty of clips from players who managed to get into groups with these bots and recorded their shenanigans. I’ve even got into groups with them and recorded them with mind vision. I totally did this to spread awareness and didn’t do it solely to boost my characters to 25 with myself set to master looter

Except the ZG croc farms.

But as a whole, boosting entire instances was a Classic thing - which frankly I’m glad people found things like that. It kept things fresh for me. During OG Vanilla, any mage worth their salt was raiding and there just wasn’t enough time to putz around like that.

The WC boost was a no brainer to figure out with all the ledges. The stockades one was interesting.

That being said, doing both of those is a lot harder than anything in Vanilla Classic because the margin for error is pretty small.

The stockades mobs slap. If you have ice armor up and you get hit, the one slowed will mess up the grouping. The pathing is also fairly strict, and depending on the method you use, leeway can be a huge problem. Without ice armor, you get crushed. I can pull 4-5 with no problems, but anything more than that I run out of mana as living bomb just eats it all up. When the mobs run away in fear that’s when things get scary because not only are you OOM, you have mobs running every where and you can’t control them.

Relative to the other boosts, these are not easy. It’s not like people can just afk at the entrance because the chance of a screw up is pretty high. I’m running out of stocks and resetting like once ever 5 pulls or so.

Things are fine. I play alliance, but the horde side RFC boost seems the easiest of the 3. It’s essentially a slight variation of the old RFC boost

They can also solo 1st boss of BFD.

Mage AoE is fine.

Healing from Living Flame is an issue and should be toned down like it was for Arcane Explosion.

AoE farming has been a Mage niche since launch and wasn’t changed until Mages AoE farming Naxx prompted changes in TBC.

Although true as I’ve seen, I’ll personally sell one of those options.

Agreed, this is a bit ridiculous. They buffed the class that was already mega OP at farming and made them 5x better at farming.

Typical Blizzard design failures.

Hopefully not. A max-rank arcane explosion, which costs a lot of mana, only heals for 3 or 4 health.

The healing from Living Flame should be nerfed, but only after mage damage in general is buffed. Getting off a 2.5 second cast is nearly impossible with all the runes every class now uses in pvp. There are so many more ranged interrupts/CC’s now, and other classes, which previously were inferior ranged casters to mage, have gotten ranged spells through runes that are now superior to mage. What mage used to specialize in, they are now second-rate at. Right now, the healing of Living Flame is pretty necessary for that ability to even be considered for pvp.

Just reroll if you want to do this. Boosts are not against ToS, and you just sound… jealous?
