Shadowpriests and Locks are destroying mages in raid DPS. Why is Blizzard making mages so weak this expansion? Hybrid DPS classes should not be out DPSing mages by such huge margins.

After the huge hunter buff incoming, mages will be the worst dps class.

Wierd, people in the hunters forums are saying is meaningless.
Tbh Mage is just not doing great in this raid mostly because of the style of fights. They were doing fine in Uldir.
With 3 specs you would think one of them would be able to handle the style of fights in the current raid. Classes with multiple dps spec should be able to respec to adapt to fight styles. Mages are just sitting at the bottom with all 3 specs being awful at ST, AoE and cleave.

We handle the style of fights just fine actually. I find BFDA is pretty solid compared to uldir.
We just have horrible scaling issues

BM is at the bottom frost is upper middle
All 3 mage specs are in the bottom 8 specs overall in the new raid tier. MM and Surv hunters a smack dab in the middle overall. This means the average of all bosses.

They weren’t doing good in Uldir and weren’t doing all that great in Legion (all tiers) either. Arcane was bottom of the pack in Uldir and still is. Fire was a little better but now frost is the better of the specs but that isn’t even saying much.

Mages really need some love Blizz its bad how far they are falling behind. They shouldn’t be getting smoked in damage by other classes , they can do nothing but dps and have next to no real Dots. Either that or design better encounters to be meaningful to all players not just your Fotm 2-4 classes a tier

Problem w even seeing in boss design is that
Most allow for a lot of multi dot capabilities. So classes that cannot fall behind.

Check simcraft or warcraft logs. Simcraft shows upper middle. Warcraft logs for bda looks mid pack…
For mythic at 75th percentile parses, all 3 mages specs are in the bottom 3rd of spec rankings. For heroic at 75th percentile, arcane and fire are still bottom third, while frost is in the upper middle like you said.
Looking at aggregate rankings like that is relatively pointless anyway. You need to look at the boss by boss rankings, and for mythic frost is in the lower half/third for everything.

mages need a buff at the very least if current raid/encounter design stays the same going forward. Any argument against that is dumb and been disproven, weather you play a mage , loc or whatever class. All the info is out there. The arguments are over really
