Mageblade for mages?

____ has left the guild
____ has left the guild
____ has left the guild
____ has left the guild
____ has left the guild
____ has left the guild

This line of thinking is assuming that the +SP is the king stay for both classes. When in reality, the spell power is the king stat for the mage, and the crit is the king star for the pally, but the pally ALSO needs the healing power.

For you to suggest that the crit alone is enough for the pally so go get the mara sword shows you don’t understand how paladins are maxing their stats out. The pally gets maximum use out of BOTH the crit and spell power, where the mage is really only using the MB for the massive spell power upgrade and the 1% crit is a nice added bonus. Let’s be real, with winters chill, world buffs, frost talents, ya mages stack over 30% already so 1 extra isn’t really helping us much, but the pally gets way more out of a crit and is looking to stack it as much as possible.

Again if you average around 500-600 frostbolts for a 1.5 hour molten core, you are adding about 14-15k damage by going mageblade over witchblade. That’s a decent amount of damage but in the grand scheme it’s peanuts…

Yes you do, but only with the fact your guild uses a popularity contest to determine who gets gear. DKP or rolling is the only fair way. Loot council ALWAYS causes drama.

On another note, it’s equally good for holy pallies as mages, the staff is not as good as the mageblade & the AV offhand make for a much more powerful combo than the staff alone.

Just as an aside,

Other loot systems have downfalls just as much as LC does.

For example, my guild has been a MS/OS rolling guild since the start. However, since the beginning of classic we’ve had 2 benedictions, 1 mageblade, and one staff of dominance quit the game. Not quit the guild and run off, but actually quit the game due to w/e reason at the time. This included 2 class leads one of which quit the day after getting staff of Dom.

With BWL on the horizon my guild made a conscious choice to switch to LC for our progression group in hopes of distributing the gear to players who have proven they will stick around. In addition to this, we picked up a few players from a top guild that split up and we have been using the LC system as a way of ensuring the original guild members hat the loot won’t be handed out to some new comer who we don’t have a relationship with on a whim.

Our LC system works multiple ways, some of which hands a specific piece of gear tonone player, sometimes multiple players will roll, and occasionally one class will get prio over another and swap the week of priority each raid.

Has it been a smooth transition? Not entirely, the first week was bumpy and saw a few council members changed for week 2. However, with the mindset that this group is planning on being a future progression group and sticking together for the long term, we have been able to all agree that this system has our best interests in mind.

yep, sounds like a bitter troll to me. thanx for the confirmation, boo.

your just making leaping assumptions arent you? All i have said is the guy has no right to be miffed as healers are probably the most important part of your raid and deserve just as much a shot at loot as you.

???

back in vanilla DPS was pretty subpar and those bosses died, very slow sometimes.

this isnt even bringing up the fact that as they get more spell power they can more effectively down rank their spells and conserve more mana etc.

get over yourself

Just to play the devils advocte here…

In MC you can get away with sub par dps…

In BWL subpar dps will stop the raid at VAEL…however, with the 1.12 patch and all the dmg gear that greens and blues and dm pieces give us, the dps is already at a high enough level to take on vael…so yeah the MB and all other loot should be EVEVNLY distributed. Someone’s gonna get the first one, but doesn’t mean the second one has to go to that same class

The hell is wrong with your silly guild. Only mages were considered?

Its a warlock weapon first and foremost. Then mage
Then etx etx.

Should be called lockblade.

I’m forcing every warlock I know to take sorcs dagger…

Gear the boomkins over warlocks I say!

Yeah youre clueless. We need the crit.

pretty sure players in general are doing a ton more DPS these days too as their knowledge on both the class and game has increased, along with their FPS :joy: :joy:

ive thought for a while, Vael is probably going to be alot easier in classic then Vanilla just based off of that. I imagine Razorgore mechanics might block some people, but even then its not super crazy.

i moved with my arrow keys in vanilla and managed to kill these bosses and kite mobs during Razorgore somewhat efficiently and my guild got our kills. it will be FAR easier these days for me at least as my own personal skills have improved since then, which I imagine it will be like for alot of people

This is why loot council is a bummer.

we had one lock, i might mistaken, she was considered.

spell crit is a big deal but i’d say its a bigger deal for holy pallies than it is for mages.

pally yes but its fair game between mages and warlocks

Quick shift in topic…

Which class should get first priorit on Neths Tear

What was the fuss about?

Nope.

10 char lol omg

Warlock. They don’t have hit talents for destruction spells. Mages have hit talent for their dps spells. Warlocks will have to have good +hit for tanking twin emps, also.

Paladins have the worst +healing coeffecients of ll healers by a pretty large margin, they just want a much spell crit as possible and any additional +heal is a bonus.
