Did mages loose their water elemental with the new expansion? I still have the spell on my UI action bar but it does nothing. I don’t even get an error message when pressing the action button. It is not in my spell book either.

Did you spec into water elemental? you need to explicitly spec into it.

They’ve not only not spec’ed into it, they’ve actively spec’ed out of it - Lonely Winter is a shared talent with Summon Water Elemental, and they’ve taken the former.

Thank you for that info. I had been driving myself crazy trying to figure out what the frak happened.
And may the Dev responsible for that decision, who also FAILED to tell us all of this result, have ten thousand little annoyances fall upon him every day, until the arrival of the next major release…
Why? They didn’t pick the talent without reading both options - you did.
Actually, THEY DID. That talent was PRESELECTED by Blizz.
And with my poor eyesight, I could not find the correct talent all this time (i.e. since launch). Finally, I got so frustrated that I used Google, which (THANKFULLY) lead me to this very thread.
