Mage Tower

Okay, so I am completely new to mage tower, I’ve never done it, and whatever. But I am struggling, I am dying instantly so what gear do I need to be able to do it? Like is there specific gear or do I just mix my shadowlands gear and legion gear?

If you’re dying instantly it is likely you’re missing a mechanic, they should be completeable in whatever you got on you. I think the only funky scaling comes from Legion gems, or something.

I have like 6k health and the ice shards are killing me quickly to the point where I don’t have time to kill it.

Old enchants work in it but otherwise youre scaled to the challenge meaning better sl gear wont help

Some old gear with sockets may be worth farming

Current leggos dont work in it. So may need to change talents etc

Theres guides on youtube That may have more detail

Gear can make a difference. The common advice there tends to be to get a set with a lot of sockets and just pile in some main stat gems. I believe MoP gear is a good one to go for. And certain old trinkets can really help too. But really the mechanics of the encounter are what really matters. There is no shortage of guides out there. No shame at all in looking them up. Mage tower is no joke. And the arms warrior one does have a lot of parts to it.

There’s pretty in depth guides for each class/spec on Wowhead even with strat videos and weak auras.

The crusader enchant will improve your survivability a LOT. Just bladestorm and aoe, spam victory rush while you make your way out of it. Alternate stuns/interrupts/fear and spell reflect to allow second wind to get uptime for healing.

Solution: Give up and wait until they nerf it.

I haven’t even tried the mage tower because I already know it’s harder than I’m willing to attempt.

Are you doing the Xylem challenge? if so you are not doing the razorice mechanic correctly.
I haven’t done the warrior once, but DKs need to death strike out of it and DHs have to double jump out of it. I think for warrior you can try heroic leap out of it. you have to manage your cds to deal with each cast

DH’s issue wasn’t so much the razorice as it was the regular frostbolt casts hitting like a truck. As someone who’s done both Mage tower versions (2nd time it was up in Legion), they made p1 substantially more annoying

MT scales, so it’s not about the gear as much as it’s about utilizing every skill and spell in you toolkit.

I think you have to heroic leap out of the icicles. They kill anyone who does not get out without touching the edges.

All good advice. Many videos out there now.

Take lots of breaks and listen to this song for +1k dps

The Mage Tower should be hard. It should be a completely cracked challenge for only the best players. If it wasn’t hard it wouldn’t be as interesting.

I see your opinion, and I recognize it as valid. Obviously, I disagree and feel that the Mage Tower would be much more interesting if it was easy. I would actually do the Mage Tower then, and doing something is more interesting than not doing something.

For me, challenge is a deal-breaker. Makes me completely uninterested in turned-off. But I do acknowledge that many people are the exact opposite of me in that regard.

If the Mage Tower was easy all of the rewards would lose their luster. When you see someone in that reskinned tier 6 you know they have a big fat pee pee and are good at the game.

Too bad the mogs are hot piles of garbage this go around besides druid

Context. With games or everything? You like your woman easy to get?

I disagree. Mage Tower is supposed to be hard, it is supposed to be for those that want to challenge themselves and show that they aren’t a weak player. If it were easy then many players that have earned the reward would feel like they wasted their time and get all angry and feel like all the work and challenges they’ve been through were for naught. Even though I find it extremely challenging IMO I still wouldn’t change the difficulty of it regardless of how I feel.

Not to me. Right now, none of the rewards have luster because I will never attempt to get them, so I don’t care about them. If it became easy, I would go get them and immediately care about them because I have them now.

I don’t know anything like that. In fact, I don’t even know what the tier sets look like, as I do not raid. I don’t notice those things at all.

I would enjoy having a werebear form on my druid, but honestly, I don’t really play druid much so it isn’t even that much of a benefit if I were to get it.
