I’m surprised Blizz hasn’t added something into the system for immediately banning people posting mage tower sales in the group finder?
We all know that it is against the rules to share an account anyway and we know that this is a SOLO challenge. Yet I’m sitting here for ages constantly reporting and clearing these ads from the list so I can find actual m+ I’d like to que up for.
I’m not sure how hard that would be in implement into the game, but I think a lot of people would appreciate having those ads get cleared out through a filter system or something.
It isn’t a tokens thing(that is account sharing for mage towers), and if it is account sharing these people are also most likely not paying for it in gold either.
I’m sure Blizzard will get right on this, ban the accounts in question, remove the achievement from those provably engaged in it who completed the achievement while logged in from another IP address, and take immediate legal action against the RMT websi… nope, couldn’t say it with a straight face.
I think you’re missing the point here. Mage tower is a SOLO experience.
Aka, if someone is selling a carry this would involve sharing account info with some random person which is completely against the terms of service for this game. That isn’t like selling a m+ carry for gold because you can’t join anyone in there.
Oh I totally believe it, it’s definitely happening. Basically a small “cottage industry” has suddenly popped up with these Mage Tower carries .
In 2 separate twitch streamer chatrooms earlier tonight, I’ve observed casual remarks from chatters about “paying someone to do this for me” or “i’ll just get my friend/buddy to play my account and kill it for me”
Yes it is extremely easy to content these people with how many ads are all over the place in group finder.
I didn’t say anything about people not willing to break tos for some in-game achieves, so idk what make you want to say that. I’ve been around for more than 10 years on this game, I’ve seen all kinds of people getting boosted over the years.
The point of my whole post was wondering why Blizzard won’t do anything to take care of the ads in group finder which are flooding out regular m+ and other content posts. These are clearly showing websites in their listing while titling something that is tos.
Blizzard is not gaining anything from this either, they are losing money as these are websites for real world money. It would be nice if they could implement a filter or something for anything with a “www.”, “.com” or “.ca” or “Mage tower boost” specifically so people don’t have to put in all the work of clicking report/ignore just to get to actual players posting to run something.
The sarcasm comment was directed towards the DK, not you.
Sorry maybe I misunderstood your post. Blizzard has targeted carry sellers with the new authenticator requirement in lfg. Hasn’t done much though in my opinion.
Not sure how much a filter would work, they can always get around it. Best thing to do is just report any you see.
Blizzard has worked hard to mold the playerbase to accept RMT. This is the predictable end result.
At least RMT and Boost communities are more organized now (GJ blizzard /sigh) and somewhat safer than the susanexpress days.
End of the day you can’t have a game that’s pay to win, and then be surprised when players find new (and completely predictable) ways to pay to win in situations where the accepted method of giving Blizzard Money does not work.
His guild which sells gold carries, which is not against TOS, to support guild mythic raiding…so?..it’s not real money stop looking for reasons to blast him
IMO selling gold carries makes the game pay to win, because your paying… to win.
Based on definition varying among the community, and the option to grind out gold in far less efficient ways than paying IRL money you may disagree… and that’s fine.
But he does sell carries, and yes to me that’s a reason to blast him… regardless of the games TOS. IMO advertising it on a verified twitter account as the president of Blizzard just reinforces how pay to win the game is.
But the real issue isn’t mike selling runs: is that the game has a RMT-to-Goal pathway for essentially most every gameplay loop which either allows you to bypass it entirely or have it handed to you.
