How is everyone getting ready for the mage tower’s return?
I found these guides earlier today and I’m debating whether I should start farming/buying the stuff or not. It apparently makes the challenges 20-40% easier, but idk seems like a lot.
So doing anything in particular? Got any other tips or tricks for before the MT opens?
Some of the most fun I’ve had in the game this expansion has been putting together a time walking set.
Don’t really feel like doing it until the next time it comes around. Just wanna level alts and chill rn
I’m in the same boat as you. I’ll prob make the crafted pieces and get all the enchants but I get kinda overwhelmed when it comes to which gems to use. Never got into my JC.
That doesn’t work in Mage Tower though? I heard it was just going to give you a template. No special weapons or covenant abilities.
I’ll take my kitty druid through as is and see how that pans out. Alt close outs to 60 with the 17% xp higher on list.
Think this week will be the 2nd dk and some warrior has to move up. Draenei or mag’har I have to decide.
I’m a bit confused about this. So your MT character can be max level? You just need those lower level ppl to trade gear with?
Different items and consumables scale differently. So in this case the optimal scaling is apparently the timewalking set.
Most of the borrowed power options (eg. Covenant abilitites, Legendary effects) won’t work but you can still optimize your stats with the right gear (mostly stuff with tons of sockets).
Okay this is actually good timing. I’ve got a bunch of research farmed up like 80k I haven’t gone anything with. I should just dump it on socketing?
I was assuming gear wouldn’t matter. Looks like I have some reading to do.
If you want to make a set for Legion TW, no. You’ll get the most value from older gear that natively has plenty of sockets. A lot of the strategy is basically that your gear will be scaled down to 50 regardless so you want the most “bonus” stats (eg. gems, enchants) you can get.
No prep, just going to wing it with whatever I have going right now. I only have two characters to do it on.
Plans and preparations are tactics for the weak. The strong will improvise and die with dignity!
Do I need to be maxed for this? I assumed so, it’s the only reason I was leveling.

I’m going in with drums and my stockpile of legion/bfa potions/flasks that I somehow left in the banks of various characters when the next expansion hit and will use food/runes if I’m having trouble and cutting it close. Beyond that I’m considering soloing legion raids on a few characters to rustle up some tank trinkets in particular cheat death trinkets like the one off of 2nd boss nighthold since cheat death trinkets like that can really lower the learning curve on some of these fights. I’m lazy though so half of this is things I thought about doing but probably won’t until push comes to shove.
When it was up for testing on the ptr you could go in on a character above legion ilvl, so 35 I think. I know I could test it on a copy of my level 51 dh.

It’s already easy and won’t be a problem.
Judging by blizz past with scaling and timewalking I don’t think it will be balanced to a middle ground. I’m excited for that mount none the less.
I hope it’s just not overturned. I did 6 of the 7 on multiple characters and classes(dreading the healing one I never did).
But, I know the fights ao I hope it’s more of a: as long as you know what to do, you’ll be fine.

If you are leveling a toon anyway, you should stop your xp short of 50 and spam BC normal dungeons until your eyes bleed. That’s where the most sockets are, but people will be unable to access that scaled gear for characters that are already over the Chromie time level.
I have a question about this if anyone can answer. Im hunting down some of the old trinkets again, since those are currently projected to be amazing in raw stats. Are a lot of people farming these bosses because I went to Azsuna to kill Withered Jim for the STR Trinket and he just wasn’t there and seems to not spawn at all. 
Unfortunately legion I think was the start of rotating world bosses, in fact I’m pretty sure it had a 12 boss rotation, no idea when withered jim is coming back.
