Mage Tower is a Fixable Mistake

And we permanently lost the two challenge appearances before it in Mists and Warlords, too.

Limited time is limited time.

You still had the opportunity to play WoW and do all the MT stuff. Those of us that knew it was a limited time thing took the chance to get it. I leveled and got toons to do it, to the point i got 24/36. Nothing stopped me on the others but myself. Would I like them on those toons? Sure. Would I want it put in place because I chose not to? No. That is just asinine. WoW again has had limited time things for every expansion. Prelaunch events, challenge modes, etc. That is the nature of limited time things. For them to reput them in place after saying they are taking them away punishes those who took time, or made changes in schedules, etc to get those accomplished. Why should blizz punish those people by favoring you because you chose not to?

Alright, I have to do work and I can’t really defend this topic. I’m mildly disappointed, but the concept still stands and I hope that I don’t sound like a selfish child. I wanted to see it given a chance, but sometimes we don’t get what we like.

Stay cool all you good folk

Didn’t they remove the title from the Warlock Green Fire questline?, it was a class defining change questline similar to the ye olde class mounts for Paladins and Locks, the rest are optional things and thus are removable.

As someone that got every mage tower appearance that he wanted… I hate the timed exclusivity garbage and think folks should still be able to get it.

Life happens, folks aren’t able to do it for whatever reason, often through no fault of their own, and then they’re denied the chance later. It’s a game. People should be able to play it on their own time.

I just really hate timed content in games, and the removal of content in-general.

I do always get the timed stuff that I want but still.

Just my two cents.

I don’t have many WoW regrets, but not getting the Warrior and DK CM gear is one of them.

As a Druid, I know the pain and I understand how sad it is to miss out on those two skins. But rather than asking for an advertised time event to return, keep requesting new skins. Show your interest in seeing a NEW Mage Tower with new skins.

Yes, but the warlock quest wasn’t a challenge appearance. The title was just a way to give those who did it when it was current something fun. Like a current raid title or achiev.

No, I get it, it sucks that stuff gets removed from the game.

It’s just part of WoW life.

See this would be nice too.

Whether you want to not sound one or not, the problem is you did. You wanting limited time things put in place because you didn’t take advantage of them is on you. Not blizzard.

It’s on Blizzard for bad game design.

Yea but it created a change to your class as a whole, the legendary rings and cloaks didn’t change your class and were optional, the CM Weapons and Armour? same deal they were just armours and changed, Mage Towers same deal (but i will Argue it was a one for Druids), the Warlock Green Fire changed 85% of your class abilities to be visually different from the normal so they opted to remove the title attached instead.

It was a hell of a fun fight thats for sure, still use that title on my Warlock.

How is it bad game design lmao.

You had your chance and you missed it. Tough luck. GG.

I didn’t miss anything, I just disagree with the design philosophy. I got all of my mage tower appearances.

Read before you try and act smart. Lmao

No, it’s on the players for not doing something when they knew it was going away. I know it’s hip to blame Blizzard for everything, but this is a 100% player issue. Had we never known, or had they announced very late, that it would be leaving you may have a point. That was not the case though, we knew from the get-go it was time limited.

You’re never going to have everything in WoW. Ever. Not even from everything added to the game in 2020 going forward.

Most people, I’d argue the vast sum of players who have ever jumped into WoW do not have everything. When I say everything I mean all the mounts, all the elite pvp sets, all the raid tier sets, all the time limited sets, etc.

No way. Nobody has it all. So be comforted by that.

Just because you disagree with it doesn’t make it bad philosophy. Exclusivity is not a bad thing. It makes earning it special. Mage tower and the likes should not be added back into the game after the fact. The event is over.

^ is the bad game design bit.

Again, I will never support timed exclusivity. I don’t agree with the design philosophy behind it.

Even if I do participate and get the rewards I care about because, what are you going to do?

It makes it bad in my opinion. Did we forget what opinions were?

I didn’t say it should be added back either. I’m arguing that it shouldn’t have been timed to begin with.

That being said, it was and there isn’t anything we can do about it.

Just saw folks high horsing OP and thought I’d throw my two cents in.

It didn’t change your class. It was just a cosmetic change to the spell effects.

They added to your ability to be able to raid better and wasn’t optional for raiders.

How does that correlate to an appearance? That’s not mandatory either.

Changed what? I’m confused.

There was never any plan to remove that questline. It was never advertised as limited time. And yes, it was an appearance change for spells.

I feel there’s a lack of communication between us. I’d like to understand better what you’re trying to say.
