So I’m not sure how the scaling works but looking at other S priests or warlocks do Raest and they are able to get him to 65% in the first burst window, but I can barely push 80%. I’m saving all my cd’s for the burst phase, I’m doing my rotation correctly, but it doesnt seem to matter. The same goes for the ads after that phase, once again don’t have the damage to kill those. Please tune this, I’ve been doing this all day and have not gotten the boss below 80% a single time. I’ve already spent 2k gold on repairs and I have no gold cause I’m a pvper and blizz hates us.
but it is a PvE encounter. why pvp gear?
Sounds like a skill issue.
The guide on WoW head that I saw was claiming that the crafted PvP gear from Pandaria was some of the easiest and best-scales gear to use for the Tower due to the quirks of Timewalking. I don’t know if perhaps that’s what the OP was referring to.
Regardless… I’m of the opinion that content like this should not require farming specific old gearsets to complete, especially when it’s open for such a short window so infrequently.
It doesn’t. At least, not according to the Wowhead guides.
Because I only pvp. I dont have any PVE gear.
I didn’t farm anything. Farmed the AH a little, about it.
Maybe because its, oh I dont know, NOT PVP? lol
So you’re telling me that because I don’t PVE that I shouldn’t be allowed to PVE at all? I’ve spent months gearing all my characters, and since I prefer one form of the game I can never even try the others? You understand how stupid that sounds for a game I pay $15 a month for?
Using that logic then tanks should tank in healing gear, dps should wear tank gear and healers should equip a dps set. Right? Now, do YOU understand how stupid that sounds?
You’d likely struggle with competitive pvp content if you were geared in pve gear.
It is understood that you need separate gear to perform a separate role in any MMO, but since when is it normal that if you play one part of a game you literally can’t even try the other? You see what I’m saying here, right? key word: TRY
If we were talking about mythics or raiding, I wouldn’t be disagreeing with you, but that’t the issue… it’s not. This is meant to be a challenge for the general player base not just PVE’ers.
oh and btw you literally can do that on multiple classes: Druid, Paladin, DH. They can all tank and dps in the same gear.
I would expect to have different gear if I was doing dps. In fact, I would also expect to have a different set of gear for balance vs feral.
So conversely by this you agree I should have a fair chance of beating pvp players in pve gear ?
You can buy green gear that has bis stats as long as its above item lvl 50 since its timewalking.
Also if you upgrade heirlooms you can do it on fresh toons too.
If you have a tailor you can craft a set of bis stats.
You CAN try it, but it’s meant to be a challenging PVE experience.
Someone in great PVE gear can TRY to PVP, but you’re going to get stomped by the PVP players who are wearing the proper vers gear.
You pay 15 a month, and you have access to all the gear and all the challenges in the game, but you have to decide where to spend your time. If you want to be able to COMPLETE everything, you need to have alot of time to dedicate.
You chose to PVP and not PVE, so you’re not going to be able to just jump into a PVE challenge with very sub-optimal gear and it all work out.
I also exclusively PVP, and I don’t want someone who does High End Raiding to be able to just bring their PVE gear into arena and be able to compete without grinding out the PVP gear.
The Mage Tower will come back, just work on a PVE set in the mean time and you can go for it next time.
I completed the MT using the pandarian crafted PVP set
So you wouldn’t mind if someone, say, in all pve gear, tried to pvp with it then complained it wasn’t working right?
No, those are different ROLES, not pve vs pvp.
Nope, pretty much still you…
I’m watching some old Feltotem runs in 2017 and looking at the same fight today I’m 99% sure the worm pathing is bugged. He doesn’t move in lines anymore but instead circles hard around the player and often just bee lines towards you without coming up for a look.
Might just be coincidence but it’s been a few hours watching him do this. Wondering if that’s why the encounter feels harder than it used to.
