Why is this an old gear/Consumables race? Did you guys (Blizzard) Even test this crap. I can use trinkets and consumables from any expansion. But can’t use a legendary or artifact weapon which is 100 times easier to farm. U know why WoW is falling apart? It’s because you do little to no testing on anything you release. Please for the love of god. Sell the company to someone who can take care of my game. You guy have no clue at blizzard. sorry to be blunt. But its true.

I mean technically, you can use any trinkets and consumables in SL content too.
Timewalking having a hard cap of ilvl 50 is going to open up a whole array of possible gear that isn’t current, that’s something that you don’t need to test for to find out. It’s a given, has been since Timewalking was introduced back in WoD.

I did the old mage towers and have all colors of the form and weapons on every character. You have no clue what you’re talking about. If you think this is done well. Then have fun with your crap game. People like you have caused the decline.

What you’re saying is you cheesed all the legion challenges. If anything this MT event has made me lose respect for those with the old appearances. You literally overgeared the challenges. I beat this versions havoc dh / guardian Druid / fire mage (stupid easy) / enhancement shm / and BM hunter. If anything… people that had the old legion appearances should have to beat the new ones to keep the mog.

You could use, But why? This mage tower literally proves how crap the gear is today. No sockets, No enchants. If you don’t already have the items and consumables, you’ll need to pay the 400k+ to buy all the gear and consumables needed. Then you can start the “challenge”. What a joke this community is.

Yes, gear enhancements have been put aside in recent years. That said, Mists “full of socket” gear is mostly a trap. Just because it has sockets doesn’t make it better. I did a write up on this :

Good points OP, the content should be reasonably do-able in standard Shadowlands gear worn by the average/casual player. It shouldn’t take 200+ wipes to beat the encounter in casual Shadowlands gear.
Prepare yourself though, soon the “but it’s a timewalking event, duh!” white-knights will descend on this thread to defend the reliance on specialized/out-dated BiS gear

No I beat the bear one. I had about 150 wipes with current shadowlands gear and then said screw it and spent the gold to buy all the crap needed just to finish it. Honestly retarded experience.

A mage tower was designed to be “something to do” while we wait for few quests and new zone to arrive in March or April, if we are lucky.
Any game system or feature whatever you wanna call, blizzard adjusts to jobless basement dwellers, or content creators. This game has so much potential to be greatest game, but it’s not because blizzard loves meta competitive player base, and people who are only life achievements and skill world of Warcraft. Casuals are ignored, old content is ignored, thankfully they have tokens and stuff you can buy (no I’m not being sarcastic I love those features) so that people who have life outside this game can get what they want.

X doubt.
- wakening essences take a long time to farm
- it’ll be a balancing nightmare
- some classes have legendaries baked in already (see 2).
- bis gear is much easier to get from an lfr session
- it’s all Shadowlands ready, getting gear just lowers the skill barrier.
