If you have completed mage tower challenges with the use of consumables, socket stacking, enchants (eg Crusader), on-use trinkets, and on-use racials then you completed them by means of “welfare.” You cannot say you completed it through skill if you have not done it using only your class abilities and Shadowlands gear.

Bull Rush and War Stomp are amazing for the healer challenge that’s fair.
But I did everything but the Priest with SL gear… did I cheat by using Berserking with the Druid? 
can't we find something else to be upset about? just don't do it. the fewer that play it will send the message

No amount of “welfare” gear is going to incap the Kruul adds for you, or manage the healing final boss debuff, or juggle interrupts/traps/stuns on Tugar, or properly soak Raest’s summoning circles, etc, etc.

I completed it through skill!
I completed my stay in the instance very skillfully once I got one-shot 
it was quite graceful, too. You see, I not only cackled, but I also said “screw this” seconds later!

If you needed to use drums, flasks, potions, and weapon enhancements for throughput, then you didn’t complete the challenge through skill. It’s tough to accept.
People can “say” whatever they want, and most of them will probably not care one bit what you happen to think about it.

what do I get if I did it wearing questing gear?

Some of my characters were deccked out, some had nothing, and my final 2 will be moderately geared.
Does that make me just sort of a loser? I really care about this random mage’s opinion of my methods of farming a mount.
Defensive responses say otherwise.
Yeah, people usually hop into troll threads without any salt attached.
It just means you completed some of them with skill and others you needed crutches. Nothing more. Nothing less.
