Mage rune that makes a melee attack like execute

I think it would be cool if mages had a melee move that gets stronger with their spell power. It would work a bit like the Execute ability, where the mage swings their weapon when the enemy is low on health, under 25%. When they swing, a burst of magic like arcane, frost, or fire comes out.

I would love a melee mage.

Reminds me of the Dark Souls spell sword stuff where you literally conjure a giant blade that sweeps.

Warriors will trade you execute for the Sheep spell. Deal?

Ours can be “Frog” instead.

if it scales with SP i’d love to drop those 2k+ damage executes that have 1600 damage overkill

2K executes? sure…but you aren’t getting the flaggelation, death wish, consumed by rage, blood fury, recklessness stacked 15K executes. That is the Warrior secret sauce. 15 seconds of glory.

They should been made mage into a tank, since it is lore-accurate, - belf’s last king (His sword is fire mage artifact in Legion) was kind of Eldritch Knight, so it is the mages who should been had tank spec. While Warlocks is well known for taping into life to fuel theirs spell, hell - they already can heal theirs pets, so it would make all the sense to make them into discp priest dps-to-heals spec, not the mage. But we got what we got >;{

Yup, we’ve officially gone full circle.

Mages should’ve been tanks and Rogues should’ve been healers. Mage can just use absorbs since they’ve had them from day 1 and Rogues can throw vials and inject people, it basically already happens in game, the Apothecaries.

Rogue tank just doesn’t make sense in this game. It would need to be evasion based but that means they just never take damage and then when they do get hit they get 1 shot, same thing happens in Path of Exile.

spellcaster critical strike from shadows of mystara

Battle mage ftw!

Imagine getting a crit with frostfire then blinking and executing lol. That would be sick!

When they announced SoD and mentioned Warlock tank I for sure figured they would do battle mage. Huge opportunity lost.
