Mage, Rogue, Paladin

I’m having trouble deciding which class to role on release. I played WoW after TBC release I don’t know what the difference would be between vanilla and tbc until August 27.

I plan on choosing alliance as my faction. (Paladins > Shamans)
I’m looking for endgame raiding and PvP.
If I choose paladin I would be ret pally.

If you’re planning to be a serious raider then Ret Paladin is a bad choice, they’re kind of a joke spec for PvE.

Mage as your first character. Mega sustain, easy to play, and dominates in PVP.

The best of the three for money making by far, too.

Not to mention: not gear dependent. He can just cast rank 1 frost bolt for pretty much 99% of the time LUL

One of these do not belong, which one is it?

If you’re looking for the best all around class, roll Mage

I’m not looking to do hardcore raiding, but more than casual

Ret paladins wont really be invited to raids. Even in casual guilds unless you are real close friends with the guild/raid leader. Not because they are bad. But just because they bring nothing to the table.

And what about rogue? Anything on them?

Rogues are basically the same as mage in every regard except they are gear dependent. That’s it. They are amazing gold makers too with their pick pocketing.

Play what you want and you will find a group that doesn’t care about Ret. Although Holy is a healing pvp beast and raid desired.

Rogue is more gear dependent than mage but has its own spice and melee damage is stronger in vanilla.

All three classes will be popular but Mage by far will be the most played on both sides.

All are different so if you like shaman, you might light the Paladin the most and then go from there. If you decide you never want to heal, you play Ret with friends that don’t care. Most people never see the full end game and you can pvp.

The only thing with mage that I’m worried about is earth shock from shamans

I mean to be fair: No matter what you play: your gonna be worried about something from some other class.

Hunters and Locks will kill you. As a Lock main, I had huge success against Mages. I was horrible at pvp as a Hunter but those that were not crushed Mages.

In the end: It comes down to loving the class before loving the endgame. You gotta love playing the class you want to be for 60 levels before you decide how you are gonna treat them endgame.

Mages have sheep, which is great in Dungeons. They’re good dps in Raids. They’re good at soloing, even Dungeons ( Faxmonkey). PvP they’re good, only being countered by Locks, or Hunters. Portal is great in a game with tons of travel. Conjure is a nice perk, Int is a nice buff.

If you ask me, Mage is the most well rounded class in Vanilla

Rogues are probably also more useful than mages for endgame PVP.

For example: In Arathi Basisn, it’s a lot easier to ninja or defend a flag solo as a stealthed rogue than it is as a squishy mage.

Depends on what you plan do in PvP really.

If you don’t know what to play then just go Mage.
