So, Ive decided to swap mains to frost mage since the last time i had a mage was in WOTLK and I still had frostfire bolt.
My question is this I really want the Lich aesthetic being im frost, so my question is this IF I go Necro is it viable?
p.s - i know its a game play what u want but i dont wanna be 150% behind someone because i go necro. if its a light decrease who cares but nothing substantial
It’s a substantial damage increase but if you’re not actively doing mythic progression who cares. Find a guild with a more relaxed culture and play whatever you want.
The gap is closer in m+ too

I think he means mythic raid progression. It’s close in 3-target and actually sims best in 5 target scenarios. You’re not hurting yourself much if you only m+
Yes reasonably significant in raids, but necro is solid in M+ (best in 5 targets if you use Heirmeir gemstone)
I’d definitely say go for it. Venthyr is a substantial DPS increase over the other covenants for Frost but Mirrors of Torment is such a clunky and gimmicky spell that it rarely lives up to its full potential.
If anyone gives you any flack just be like: well Ion told me to play whichever covenant I wanted to for aesthetic reasons and that they would take care of the balancing.
