Mage Powers

I’d like to see consistent Mage powers, per spec.
No more crossover spells.
Fire should have fire spells that accomplish
the current crossover Frost spells…for instance.
Replace FrostNova with FireNova, etc.
And adjust associated graphics accordingly.

You’re a hunter. Go tame some pets.

We got FF back. Leave us alone!

I think you missed the point.
And I have several mages.
No need to be dismissive
when you don’t really have
anything topical to say.

I disagree with your input. I was being sassy/funny and you took offense.

Why do you have several mages?

Wait is this haiku guy on an alt

nope…you didn’t say that you disagreed
and=or why.
you were dismissive…and that’s rude.
but that’s ok…i’m sure you’re doing the
best that you can…
adios my friend.

It happened. I liked your reply. The bridge to friendship has begun.

you should worry less about format
and more about substance…
if you ever expect to be taken
seriously.

My days of not taking you seriously are certainly coming to a middle.

i have many dwarven friends and allies.
i knew we’d find common ground!

Does “Fire Nova” have a root? If not, that would be annoying.

I have no idea what this means.
Sorry.

It melts your toes into the ground.

How would fire hold someone in spot?

I like my Mage specs how they are. It’s silly to say that a Frost Mage can only cast Frost Magic and can’t do anything from the other schools. Makes that a pretty weak and narrow minded Mage, imo.

a ring of fire…aka…fire nova could certainly
be coded to do something similar to frost nova.
there’s no valid reason for fire mages to use
frost spells.
it’s thematically inconsistent.

Almost as thematically inconsistent as a ring of fire freezing someone in place.

Why not work out a system that caters to both spec “purists” AND class fantasy/multi-element players?

It could be purely cosmetic and wouldn’t mess with gameplay mechanics at all. It could be through glyphs, the barber shop, or even some kind of spell transmog offered by class trainers.

Besides, if you go by the lore, most mages use all 3 types of magic - the only few that don’t choose to do so out of preference, not skill/specialization restrictions.

If you go by lore, you’ll learn that there is actually way more than 3 types of magic.

I understand that, but we as players only have access to 3

elemental mages?
that would make sense.
they tap into all of the
disciplines.
i’d prefer a purist option as well.
i can’t say why i know this will
never occur, because when i do…
i get silenced for a month…but…okokok…
LAZY DEVELOPERS IS WHY!
