Mage portals... But hear this... for other classes

Am I the only one that wants all the other classes to have at least some world movement spells/abilities?

If you say they are the only ones that can do it according to the lore, then your wrong:

Druids can use the emerald dream to travel (at least on azeroth, and they can do this a bit using Dreamwalk but not to as many important locations as mage teleport),

Warlocks should be able to use the same spells as mage (or more powerful versions given the use of souls),

Demon-hunters should be able to just fly anywhere (not my favorite explanation of fast travel given flying mounts but neither is vulpera camps) or use souls like Warlocks to open portals,

Paladins seem to use a portal made of light to get to their order hall in legion, so they should use them to get everywhere (even if they can only use these to holy locations, id imagine most major cities would have one),

Priests, if Paladins can do it then so can Priests, but also shadow priests could use void portals,

Death Knight should use Death Gate to get anywhere,

Shaman again use a different portal to go to order hall, one that seems to be usable by shamans specifically, or alternatively use astral recall but to different locations,

Hunters/Warriors/Rouges/Monks, I couldn’t come up with something for them but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be able to travel to multiple locations, JUST HOLD MULTIPLE HEARTHSTONES, yes it’s that simple, we obviously can hold multiple given we can hold the regular one, the Dalaran one and the garrison one all at the same time and use them separately without interference, so why can’t we just hold one to each city we want to go to.

But even if the classes don’t get a way to do it we could also go by the race for at least some races:

Draenei (both of them) use their spaceship and teleporters to and from said spaceships to travel quickly,

Vulpera already can travel from Argus to Zandalar using their racial I don’t know why I cant go from Thunder Bluff to Orgrimmar as well,

Trolls (both, again) can call upon the loa to help travel,

Both horde elves are mana addicts because they used magic in daily life, some of this daily use could just be portals and teleportation, (void elves could also use this explanation but have a better explanation, night elves may also be able to use this explanation though they never used magic as much as the other elves)

Void elves, void portals.

I know what I am to say next is unpopular, especially on the forums, I’m a casual player and don’t have much time to play. So every time I have to travel large distances to major cities it feels like I’m being punished for not playing mage, but if I play mage then I dislike playing because I prefer melee classes and heavily dislike playing mage specifically. Effectively this makes my choices play a class I like but waste time traveling or play a class I dislike with no wasted time.

This problem is especially clear in the latest patch where I have to go to the vale and Uldum every day and on my demon hunter I can only have a hearth to ONE of them and only if I’m willing to give up quicker travel to anything else.

They need to un homogenize classes not make them more similar

It’d kinda make mages feel just a little less special.

I wouldn’t want to give my double jump to other classes.

But your double jump doesn’t speed up the game, at least not a lot, you know what might though, your glide. Your glide does speed things up in some circumstances so guess what everyone has goblin gliders they can use.

Teleport definitely speeds things up more than even glide, but nope only for this one class. Only one class even gets something remotely similar and still then not even nearly as good (druid).

I would like the ability to summon a mage player to me and make them open a portal for me. This needs to happen.

Yes they should feel different and play different, but they should not have any unique power that only they get that gives them an advantage over all the rest uncontested, imagine if rouge was the only one that could interrupt, druid the only tank that could taunt and paladins the only ones that could self heal. None of that would feel fun, it would make the classes that lost the ability to do those things more non-homogenized but the lack of ability to do those things wouldn’t make them better.

I am ok with mages having portals and no one else. It is their niche .

Use the Dalaran hearthstone

Use the existing portal to your faction capitals portal room

Access to mage portals for all in less than 1 minute of travel time…

Use your main hearthstone to “portal” back to wherever. Super easy.

Roll a Dark Iron Dwarf, they have pseudo-portals.

Also everyone should be able to make mage food

And everyone should wear plate

And everyone should have a healing spec

And everyone should have waterwalking and water breathing

And everyone should have pets to tank for them

And everyone should be able to vanish out of combat

And everyone should have a travel form

And everyone should have 25% healing stones

It’s a much bigger QoL than I ever imagine (double jump + rush) means a lot of skips in older world content - doing loremasters while waiting on SL.

Horde player… Demon hunter… neither can be Dark Iron.

Everyone has access to food, not free food but still food.

Everyone has armor, not the same armor but armor never the less.

Portals aren’t combat, and there are multiple healing classes there is only one class with portals and teleport.

Everyone does have waterwalking, you can get it from potions and can put the buff on all mounts, you can also get water breathing from potions but I’ve never seen a situation in which you would need it other than when your afk in water for some reason, you never need to be underwater for that long.

This is a combat change, teleport and portal are not combat spells.

Many classes have ways to leave combat vanish is not the only one, mage invisibility and hunter feign death are just two things that pop into my head immediately.

I’d be okay with this, instant flying mount, that’d be good to have.
Hey instant flying travel form, that’s another way to leave combat quickly!

Potions again.

Not to the vale of eternal blossoms, which is one of the main areas of the latest patch (8.3).

Most classes have a way to skip things in there own unique ways, rogue grappling hook and warlock demonic gateway can do some pretty good skips and those are just the first things I think of when you say skip.

How did you spell your own class wrong?
Thank you, fox friend.

I can agree with that. I guess mage portal save them skipping travel time in a way. :stuck_out_tongue:

Different types of skips however, one skips the travel time of moving in the world and is completely intentional by the developers the rest skip content usually in instances and raids (a thing that mages can also do with blink in some cases) a thing that is most certainly not intentional and is only not fixed because it is old content they don’t care about any more.

One of the few, yes.
We already all have stones like hearthstones every xpac. Rings, Tabards, etc.
To the point mage portals are almost useless.

No

So we all know that there is more then one “hearthstone” in the game, like The Innkeeper’s Daughter or the new Eternal Traveler’s Hearthstone.

What we could do, is be able to hold more then one hearthstone at a time (be it, physically in our bag or a toy) and be able to set them to different places. The more you can collect, the more places you can have instant access to.

Literally one of the things I already said, thanks for the support.
