Mage Polymorph Spell Bug?

I haven’t been polymorph outside of wsg, but i’ve noticed it lasts 16-20 seconds first cast, then nearly 12 seconds on the next.

Its called a diminishing return. Using the same cc over and over reduces its duration

I understand diminishing returns, simply wanna know. Is Polymorph (first cast) suppost to last 20 seconds.

Cause the wiki shows it’s not supposed to last more then 10 seconds (first cast).

Yes. PvP reductions for CC duration started in TBC.

However CC is prone to break early (not always) once the CC’d target is out of combat and it can also just break early regardless but higher if combat ends, so depending on the class a mage will usually CS their sheep after a bit to refresh combat.

It’s highly unlikely a sheep or sap lasts full duration on a player. But it can if they get unlucky.

It lasts to a maximum of the duration noted on its tooltip, but it periodically checks for resists, so it has a chance to break early. This is referred to as a heartbeat resist

k, thank you very much for the info

No problem, this mechanic applies to all ccs by the way, and isnt exclusive to polymorph. Fears and sap both can break early just randomly
