My mage used to have two spells on one of my spell bars. One spell would transport me (only) to the location I selected from the options. The second spell would open a portal for all party/raid members to use to teleport to a given location… of my choice… when I placed the portal.
With this new patch the ‘personal’ portal still works fine and I can teleport to a ‘major’ location of my choice. BUT the party/raid portal now ONLY goes to SW! I tried to re-place the spell on my bar from my spellbook. Tooltip for the spell “PORTAL” specifically states “group members who use it” - and clicking on the spell (in the spellbook) gives a choice of multiple destination. But if I click from my spellbar the portal goes ONLY to SW!!
I tried going to Dalaran to ‘relearn’ the spell. Not possible. “Hall of Shapes” in Oribos doesn’t cover this. Does a ‘blue’ (or ANYONE!) have a suggestion??
Submit a bug report. Was on my mage last night and was definitely placing Oribos portals (from my action bar, not my spellbook) no problem for people. (Someone else might have something more useful to add too, but that’s all I can think of to do, sorry lol.)
When you click on the portal icon on your bar, what’s supposed to happen is that a flyout panel opens for you to choose a destination. For unknown reasons, the new UI changes broke that behavior. Apparently it will work if you put it on the main, #1 action bar.
You should also be able to click or drag the destinations from the flyout bar in your spellbook. So, for instance, go to spellbook → click on Portal → click on Oribos to open a portal, or drag that smaller icon to your bars.
When you click you (party) portal do you have the ‘full’ list of destinations? Like it used to be?? For me to open a party portal I would need to first open my spellbook because the button on my bar does NOT give me options!
Yeah, and I wasn’t running it on Action Bar #1 either as the above poster mentioned so it doesn’t seem to affect everyone equally. I still get the fly-out list of two dozen different options to make portals to, straight from I think it’s on like Bar #5 or something, one I’ve got shrunken down where I keep all my party buffs and fiddly things like that.
When I’m on my mage, my party only gets a port to orgrimmar. Sorry not sorry.
If you’re using the addon Bartender, I’ve read that it breaks flyouts like are used by the portal menu.

I don’t use many addons… (Hey, I’m really old, but so long as I play dementia does NOT seem to be ‘in the picture’… LOL!)
And TY Willsmitty… yah - am thinking for now Oribos will be the party/raid’s primary destination! But soooo annoying to have to go into the spellbook to help others get to where they want/need to go!
Small item to clarify as you communicate the issue you’re encountering:
Teleport - mage teleports self only
Portal - mage opens party - accessible teleport/portal to destination
I seem to recall seeing someone reporting some odd level constraints on portals as well. Weird.
If you do use any addons, even ones that don’t seem like they’d affect this, it’s worth updating them. 10.0 made a lot of backend UI changes so the chances of old addons breaking things is sadly pretty high.
