Does anyone find it problematic that mages will be able to use the talent cryo-freeze and ice cold together?
Sure, ice cold will limit ice block damage reduction by 70% instead of the typical 100%, but combined with cryo freeze, the mage will be healing himself for 80% of whatever damage you do to him while he is still able to pump out max damage to you over 6 seconds.
Did anyone try this on test center? Is that how it will work? Seems a bit overpowered. And now that all mage specs get cold snap as a base ability, that means mages can do this TWICE once the hypothermia wears off.

I’m expecting it to get nerfed big time.
And having said that, it will also be great having mass invisibility on a 1 minute timer for pvp. That means my night elf will have shadowmeld and mass invisibility to disappear.
Oh… and mass invisibility is instant so that helps. It doesn’t fade into stealth over 3 seconds like regular invisibility.
Combining those invisibilities with alter time and displacement and blink getting a reduced cooldown will be fun versus melee.
Only problem is you have to give up time anomaly to get it. But time anomaly is random. The above abilities are more skill based and there when needed.

You know melee never go after mage lol
Only in areanas. In BGs melee stomp mages cuz no pillars to run to.

Yea, I think a fair nerf would be to increase hypothermia from 30 seconds to 1 minute.
cant wait to copy it and use it against you!

Anyone using the wowhead talent calculator now?
Which version is accurate? The LIVE version was updated and so was the PTR 10.1.5 version. But both have slightly different connections at the end of the talent trees. Which one should I expect when downtime is over?
And no… the LIVE version is not the same from 10.1
lol not really though. You just kite them through your team.
So scatter shot to the face and then resume AS to the face, point blank. Got it!
It’s been bugged for the last several months. Has it been fixed now? If you were in combat, it would not invis you.

sounds like a weaker divine shield.
Sounds like a cyclone for 6 seconds.
Maybe 3 more seconds after that for giggles.
Worst case scenario, run away or damage something else for 6 seconds, then back to melting mage.
almost like it can be counter played unlike similar abilities other classes have.
Its ok, let them panic while those with critical thinking skills figures out how to deal with the new.
Does anyone know if cryo-freeze works while being crowd controlled with the ice cold talent? I would think not, but that would be giving too much “thinking” credit to the pvp devs at Blizzard.
But then again, if it didn’t work, it would kinda kill the talents because Ice Block is on such a long cooldown and most CC is on short cooldowns.
I would assume that you cannot iceblock while CCed with that talent because ice block no longer provides immunity with it.
Mechanic-wise, the immunity is what removes negative effects on you, so you will likely need to use this pre-emptively similar to other “wall” abilities.
That might be a reason not to use it.
They do, just never when they’re on YOUR team. That’s the rule!
Pretty sure I’d still use the full immunity ice block.

Yea, but you can blink away while using it. And before its 6 sec cooldown is over you can prepare an alter time and displacement to heal yet again if needed
Unfortunately all that can easily be dispelled.
Having said all that, I thought I read cold snap would be baseline for all specs. Guess I misread it or they reverted that change
