PVE:
- Mage was a top 5 dps class last phase, now its bottom half while all other classes such as warriors, druids, rouges and hunters remain at the top. Why were mages nerfed yet proposed nerfs to warriors and hunters on PTR reverted?
- Mage is highly dependent on other classes and other mages to max dps. SIMs have a “scorch” mage and a “winter’s chill” mage for fire achieve highest dps. When are there ever 3 mages in a 20 man raid (not counting heal mages)?
Horde mage is at a distinct disadvantage to gain dreamstate buff. Boomkins on alliance are the only class that brings nature debuff, while horde shamans bring nature debuff thus not needing the boomkin. While its almost guaranteed to have a dreamstate buff in an alliance raid, there’s a 1/3 chance you don’t have it an horde raid. WCL data shows this. - Cold snap is a 10min cd and needs to be reduced to 5min. All other major dps cd’s in the game are 5min or less, just align this. SIMs have mages always using cold snap but this is never the case in reality. At best you get cold snap every other boss in BWL
PVP:
- Mages used to be glass cannons but now are just glass. We can be global’d or 2 shot by just about every other class in the game. Yet due to hardcasting and not having all of the buffs from other classes on targets (occult poison, MoC, dreamstate ect.) we hit other classes like a wet noodle.
- Reducing cold snap here to 5min would help improve pvp to be able to iceblock again and give us more survivability.
