Are you talking melee or ranged?
Either way, I agree, Mage is incredibly boring and being trash tier only doubles down on that fact…
IMO, the best Melee are DK, Feral Druid, Rogue, Enh Shaman, WW Monk.
I think most Ranged specs are pretty rough right now, but Warlock always shines and Hunter is never a bad choice.

Isn’t MM in a really bad spot right now? I hear BM is mid tier at best as well. This hunter has been my main for almost 20 years and I feel like I shouldn’t level it first this time around.

Mages are in a bad place atm bc the dev did nothing but copy/paste out of the spell book and didnt add anything new or fix anything.
Hunters are garbo atm. Bm is mid pack, mm is bottom and surv is DoA laughable meme spec.
Cant win em all.

Yea, MM is pretty scuffed admittedly but BM and Surv are actually doing pretty well. It’s hard to compare because some other specs are way overtuned but they are definitely not bad options.
Another example of why mages are a bad choice for maining that has been overlooked for some time is / blink pathing been an issue for years with this class - you have to be aware of the seams in the map or waste your 20 yard teleport - all classes after this have had a version that is not effected by map seems - this is a bug not a feature. Evoker can just fly above the seams , monk roll over, demon hunter dash over, warrior leap over etc.

Mage does seem to be on the low end. Lock is probably the most consistent alternative to go with, evoke is a wild card atm with blizz keeping a close eye on it for being the new class.
I do hope that they are looking at the numbers for mage though and even more so I hope they revisit the specialization trees again, they feel very one dimensional especially the last tier talents.

What spec were you playing ? I am not extremely geared at the moment but I am consistently top DPS in any normal dungeon I enter using arcane. Doing about 25k on tank and spank bosses.

Mage PvE is quite fine. On PvP side we do zero damage. And no I don’t like or play Glacial Spike or Arcane 1 shot cheese either.

Yes they change it tomorrow/or today.
Perhaps I’m overly optimistic, but I feel the 20% damage increase to ice lance could help. And that other trash ability no longer has a cast, so maybe that could become okay?
Hunter is actually the worst but Mage is indeed struggling with DPS.

meta this season will likely be triple melee. DH, Rogue, WW. Casters are trash except for maybe demo. Feels bad.

Agreed. They should just make blink behave like the other spells. 20 years of blink fails.

I mean I’ve full on laid into a demon hunter - I mean full on PVE rotation on this guy…then he turns around, dashes to me, stuns me (for 3 seconds)…and before the 3 second stun is over, I’m dead.
This is with full 411 pvp set.

That damage was only applied to PvP iirc.

Oh… That’s right! That’s unfortunate because spamming ice lances in PvE can be quite fun.
