MAGES
FREEZING BAND x2
IS THE MOST OP CLASS IN PVP IN CLASSIC
This statement is absolutely true … if you wanna know whats OP you have just been told.
Everybody whos planning to play mage in classic now hates me for two reason … one they have worked hard to down play mages saying they are just OK and TWO they sure as hell do not want people to know the value of freezing bands as they need TWO of them because the effect stacks.
I have just outted this for majority of people who do not know this but vets like me who did the high warlord slog (grand marshal if your alliance) back in the day know this to be 100% true. (look up “unbreakable” on youtube high warlord shaman)
EVERY SINGLE secret pvper who wants to be god tier knows this and plans to go mage for pvp its gonna get disgusting with the amount of mages in pvp in a few months. People think its warrior and rogue but that wont last long the power will shift and mages will be the kings mark my words ill remind you of this post when it happens

Wow, thanks for the insight.
Cool. Im still playing a rogue
Feezing band is going to be strong for a lot of classes , it gives that extra CC that many classes will need.
Rogue’s will still have a far better chance against a mage then vis versus, and warriors (sword spec) has a decent chance of winning against a mage.
Mage’s aren’t OP, OP unless you play 3min pom and for w/e reason your opponent just allows you to pom them.
Kinda hard to defend against an instant attack unless you perfectly time your stun or blind or something to keep them from being able to use the “on use” buff from their trinket and CD.
If I remember correctly, the PoM buff doesn’t have a time limit to use it. It stays as an aura until you use it or die.
Engineering can balance the scales a bit. God help anyone who PvP’s without Frost Reflectors and grenades, though.
If i want to full PvP it wouldn’t be mage. Lock would be up there.
Example of true OP would be ret in the mid part of TBC.
They could either one to three shot you, had healing, had defs, bubbles, and much more. It was almost impossible to kill one unless player was afk. That is OP nothing in Vanilla was true OP. You had class/spec strong to different class/specs not to all.
You always had a chance of dying to all.
Some classes have a 30% to win against some classes not 5% or 0%.
Gear/professions/surroundings/knowledge/skill/addons/key bindings all play a role as well.
Congrats? You seem awfully sure this is important so good on ya buddy boy.
Here’s a secret that isn’t a secret: classic isn’t balanced. There are OP classes and UP classes. This was part of the fun. Get over it, I have.
mage really isn’t that good compared to warrior rogue and lock and even shaman and hunter. people who think mage is OP just suck.
Put PvP in your title so that you don’t break the hearts of aspiring mages
Also, those rings will auction for 1000g each or more, so start saving!
I wore a Freezing Band on my Forsaken Warrior all the way from 45 to 60 in Vanilla.
Two things happened consistently:
(1) Other players, usually those waiting for the Zep, would Inspect me, and Yell: “Freezing Band on a Warrior!”
(2) Other players in a Dungeon that I would be Tanking, in a group that did not include a Mage, would, after a fight, ask each other: “How did that mob keep getting frozen?” And I would announce, or show off, my Freezing Band.
And to either (1) or (2) I would always respond: “Always helps to have a little magic…”
[In an aside, I love your name, but, personally, I kinda got a big kink over underpants…one of the reasons I will miss those Blood Elf Boys not being in Classic.]

You do know they will be 500-1000g during phase one I’ll take the mount.
Well I seen a lock 1 vs 6 ppl in Vanilla. They were all lvl 60 never seen a mage do it.
Seen 1 vs 3 a rogue and mage but never 6 like the lock. The lock was a rank 14 other enemies range from rank 3 to 12.
Still 6 was pretty crazy.

I always found frost mages were easy targets. There were not many good ones and when you found a raid geared mage in open world they didn’t know how to play because they spent years in dungeons.
Want OP gear on a vanilla mage? Get the Dreadmist set. I had a pvp vid called Dreadmist mage but it vanished with some old computer HD… Chance on attack causes attacker to run in fear… Trolling rogues all day.
Haha, I had two of them back before I hit 60. Still have them on this character. Not as powerful as you think. Still nice to have though.
Ok sure but us shamans need them too for our OP frost shocks?
DAHAHA… I was a mage back in Vanilla, pvp my butt off to get rank 14. I was fully geared but I can not say that I was OP because lock and rogue with the same gears, with all their cds will take me down like any other class. Esply LOCK! SO NO! Mages are not OP.
