I boosted my mage and skipped everything and went right into BFA (no quest popped for class compaign at that time) and after unlocking dark iron dwarves I decided to unlock the rest of the allied races on alliance, at the same time I wanted to get the class mount and unlock flying aka legion pathfinder. After spending a few days reading on wowhead about the mage class campaign I began. I made it to the scouting map quest “a conjurers duty” i forget the name of the npc that I picked it up from. Anyway when I clicked on the map nothing showed, at this point I checked wowhead and read that I can just go to each part of the broken isles and do the quests to by pass this quest and continue the campaign but as I’ve done 99% of the quests in all 4 areas and even most of suramar (quests tracking on mini map) I still can’t bypass the quest. No NPC comes up to me in Daralan and no other quests in my class hall. I’ve completed most of the requirements for the part 1 pathfinder but will not be able to finish it as I cant do anything with my class campaign. Submitted a ticket and was told to Google it and figure it out myself that the GMs dont handle issues like this and I can submit a bug but it isnt likely to assist me with moving forward… help me? Please?!? The only thing I haven’t tried is doing the weapon quests for the other 2 specs (arcane and fire) that show on the map in Daralan. This has been a month long battle and I’m about to go insane. Thanks.
A Conjuror’s Duty is started and ended by The Great Akazamzarak (Male Goblin NPC in Mage Class Hall). But it is just a breadcrumb quest to introduce you to questing in the various zones. It can safely be abandoned.
Have you looked over the links listing the quest progression for the entire Mage class hall campaign? Perhaps you can see if you are stuck anywhere else in the chain.
Yes ,apparently I should be on Rise, Champions where I talk to Meryl Felstorm to recruit Archmage Kalec and Archmage Modera but he doesnt have any quests, the only quests I can find in my class hall are from The Great Akazamzarak and the only quests in Daralan are the artifact weapons from archmage modera and archmage khadgar. I search for him in dalaran and cant find him, looked for his locations online and he isnt in any spots so I ported to my class hall and searched there and cant find him there either.
Ok, so you are able to see Meryl in your Class Hall, but it is just that he doesn’t give you any quests?
Have you checked your entire quest log for any of the quests in the Campaign list? When you have the quest log / map menu open, click World so that it will list out all your quests.
Also, have you checked the world map for any ! marked on the map (suggesting that you have one in the world waiting to be picked up)? That can happen when you complete a quest in the chain but fail to pick up the next one.
Also, make sure that you have Trivial Quests checked on your minimap menu (click the magnifying glass).
No I can NOT find Meryl anywhere. I’m starting to feel like Rick on the rooftop here. Also open my world map and under mage campaign is ONLY a conjurors duty nothing else. I wish I could post pictures cause I’d show you, my world map shows NO other quests available in the hall of the guardian and only 3 for all of Dalaran which are Fire: the folly of Levia Laurence given by Archmage modera and Arcane: fate of the tideskorn from Archmage Khadgar and Chromie the deaths of chromie given by Khadgar as well
I DO have trivial quests turned on on the mini map as well and there isnt any of those anywhere either. In the last 2 weeks alone I’ve been all over Dalaran and haven’t found anything.
Is Meryl on a mission? Happened to me if I recall correctly
No because I cant do missions. The mission table is just a blank map with no tabs.
What about your Scouting Map? Can you access it? Have you opened zones from it?
It has always been a blank map, I have never had the option to select anything from it.
You say you’re on Rise Champions, the quest before that is

No, I cant do it, the scouting map is blank. The reason I said I was on rise champions is because someone said that conjurors duty wasnt required for the questline, which I also read on wowhead. I still have the quest but I cant select a zone which is what it requires.
Can you load your character into Wowhead’s quest tool?

Have you left your class hall to go to Dalaran yet? Meryl follows you around with a quest, IIRC.
Many times.
Boosted characters have some quests automatically completed. Use the wowhead character profile tool and see what quests it shows that you have completed.
I submitted another ticket which told me to abandon the quest and move on like I’ve seen before but that wouldnt let me move on so I did an additional ticket from that one and included screen shots and the next game master that review my ticket said " I understand you’re looking to finish up the Conjuror’s Duty for the mage Class Hall. I reviewed the character here and I do see this quest cannot be completed since there’s no choices on the scouting map. I went ahead and finished this quest for you, so you can turn it at the class hall next time you log in.

I then logged back in and turned in the quest yay then I used the portal back to dalaran and boom here comes Meryl a running up to me! So a conjurors duty must be turned in to move on and I’m flipping ecstatic that someone finally helped!

Happy that this worked for you but this is still a problem on active servers 2 years later. Blizz you need to fix your bugs not just wait for someone to spend literal hours researching and then writing out multiple tickets which I am unfortunately sure I will have to do
