every layer, 20+ bots, same backpeddling drinking skinning keyboard turning random spam targeting mage bots…
1 human GM could squash them all in a single 20 minute run.
I’m about to quit classic on principle. Blizzard should be ashamed.

People thought fresh would be different.
Given how it clearly ruined the other releases, I kept thinking “surely this time they have learned their lesson”. Nope, fool me.
I’m done for this. Maybe a Fresh+ i’ll give a try, but if I see the same crap my sub will disappear faster than a snow cone in the summer.
Well, i have some bad news for you.
Botting has existed in WoW for 20 years.
Botting has existed in every MMO since the dawn of MMO… they were present in everquest back in 1999, they were present in meridian 59 back in 1997.
Every single game company tried to get rid of bot.
bot are still there.
So… you know where the door is.
Dumbasses want these mega servers. That brings bots. They ARE NOT on the small servers. They have no one wanting their crap. Get rid of big servers get rid of bots.
The ‘regular workers’ at Blizzard should absolutely be ashamed. The Classic team should be embarassed. And you’re right…a handful of human GMs could clean up this game in a weekend.
But the higher-ups who actually run the company don’t care. And they have the power to make those decisions.
Spot on. I said this long ago when Blizz started their obsession with Megaservers. It’s AMAZING for bots and gold sellers. All their prospective customers crammed into one server.
Bots use keyboards?
Yes.
Everybody always assumes “bots” means software being exploited predominantly in Eastern Europe and South East Asia. In reality, the biggest offenders are North American mechanical engineering companies that build physical robots to play WoW.
Don’t be a sheep.
I’m imagining a Terminator skeleton playing WoW.
Bots pay subscriptions, thousands upon thousands of subscriptions.
Subscriptions are profitable.
Blizzard doesn’t care what version you play because a subscription is a subscription. Though, I am SURE they prefer you on the one with the Cash Shop
Don’t worry Blizz will ban them 3 months from now after they’ve farmed and sold thousands of gold.
But blizzard banned GDKP’s thus permanently solving the botting issue.
Its the same botters over again that just got banned, they’re just making new characters per usual.
Disgusting I know, but this is what happens when Blizzard IS accepting money from botters for subscriptions and YES the bots to buy subs; this is not 2005…
Only Gold Sellers and Gold buyers believed / claimed that BS and you know why… Because the sellers cant make any money if no one buys their gold due to GDKP turning out gold to raiders and gold buyers dislike GDKP because they cant afford the BiS loot.
Don’t worry, Blizz will implement the WoW Token on Fresh and it’ll solve everything.
Then we can all become gold buyers without the sting of injustice!
I’m just commenting on how blizzard gaslit the community.
well they have a big time incentive to do so…
Gold sellers run thousands of bots, potentially tens of thousands of bots. And each one of those is a subscription. If the gold sellers want something; they are likely to get it.
As long as they implement it on servers where GDKP isn’t banned, then this just means that people who would prefer to throw their money at a game than play its content will be paying for subs for those who would prefer to enjoy the game to play it.
Pretty sure he was being sarcastic.
Or at least I hope he was.
She probably was, but I legit think it would make sense to have a Token Added realm option in addition to GDKP Banned (no token) realms for Classic.
The idea of PVP vs Normal, and now even HC complicates this, but they don’t have to try to be everything for everyone.
