Mage Blizzard spell to blame for boosting and gold selling?

Seems like this AOE, which combines a snare, with high damage, is responsible for a lot of the farming that we see of instances, and the boosting market. It distorts the game, especially when combined with hacking.

Limit AoE to 10 mobs end of boosting.

Face it Blizzard made a lot of stupid design choices in Vanilla. This is just ONE. Doesn’t mean they need to start changing abilities - just fix pathing in dungeons.

Well we won’t have to worry about it in TBC where we actually do see a cap on AoE.

Partially the spell, partially Blizzard doing absolutely nothing about map exploits that allow mages to kill LITERALLY HUNDREDS of high level mobs at once with no risk of dying

That little Blizzard is harmless. Don’t you druids have hurricane or something like that? Do same thing but more damage?

This is the real problem. Without pathing exploits, mages would be able to boost up to maybe SM. The pathing issues is what enables them to boost somebody to 60.

No need to break class design, just make it so that if one person in the party is more than 10 levels above the others, exp gain from kills is reduced by 90%.

Bam, no more boosting. At least, no more boosting until ZG boosting at level 50.

Breaking news, water is wet, back to you ted

TBC fixes this issue.

The lack of a cap on it is the real problem, pathing can be wonky too, but with a cap, it’d be a non issue. Multishot on a hunter is really damaging but it’s capped at 3. Also, Blizzard is not really good solo if you didn’t put talents into it.

The crazy thing is that the T2 Mage set has a bonus to it’s radius I think.

muh no changes

Absolutely. Hurricane is insane and should be nerfed into the ground. You should see me do mediocre DPS on a single pack of bugs in the Fankriss gauntlet. It’s pure insanity.

Nice try at trolling, but an actual class ability is nowhere near as bad as Multiboxing

1 minute cool down, no snare so they still catch you and I haven’t seen the damage go too high compared to mage AoE which is spammable with a snare.

Edit: And don’t try and mention travel form as you can’t use that in most instances nor does cat form’s speed or even the PvP 4-set bonus work in doors, nor does root which can only be used on 1 thing at a time anyways.

Mage is an aoe class so it’s as designed.

In tbc it’s paladin consecrate that hits unlimited.

The game isn’t distorted. Sticking a snarl word in a “change the game to be the way I want” demand isn’t going to sway anyone.

As others have already stated, it’s the exploitation of terrain/safe spots and mob pathing that lead to 1 pulls of 300+ elite mobs being possible.

Blizzard is an extremely annoying spell in AV but I still wouldn’t change it because that wouldn’t address the real heart of the problem.

Tbc does it

The only reason the terrain is working is cuz they are slowed.

Go have a warlock try to do a 300 pull. They can’t because they can’t slow.

So what you’re saying is that Blizzard ruined Classic? :watermelon:
