Is it worth speccing into this? I used to do this in era but i remember the earlier levels being a bit sketch until I got the mount and ice barrier.
It’s risky, so probably a lot of fun. Try it out.
I’ve come upon a few people doing this in hardcore, but it isn’t as common on hc servers as regular. Just know it ups the risk factor considerably.
I usually see people in pairs or groups doing it.
It is a bit “safer” that way.
If OP is familiar with AoE then only thing they’d need to do is to ignore/turn off whispers.
Some people get really triggered by Blizzard.
I do this. I have my own style of doing it, my own talent and rotation setup for this.
The worst thing that could happen is you kill an AoE mage.
It’s more the fact that the AoE mages will occasionally try to kill anyone with the audacity to kill “their” mobs.
The whispers are well deserved.
I bet you’re the best AoE mage, ever.
I’m certain you have a wealth of fascinating anecdotes covering every situation that’s ever happened to, or near, any AoE mage who’s ever AoEd.
That’s why you’re my favorite.
Chill there Glinda. You dont literally need to go out of your way to take every little thing that I say as a personal challenge aimed directly at you specifically.
AoE leveling mage is not very difficult. More people do it than dont do it.
Holy pally and mage are a fun combo to aoe level. If you have a pal, check it out.
Golly, your reading skills are what impress me the most.
Formidable, Homeric.
Not always.
Some people will arrive on the scene where a mage is already there doing their thing, minding their own business when the new arrivals have a meltdown and send foul-mouthed messages instead of moving on to the next camp. Mage ignores them. AngryPlayer (or players) pulls additional mobs into the camp attempting to put more in play than the mage can handle (I guess that’s the purpose). Ignore that and mage moves to a different camp. Rinse and repeat all while on blast in zone chat which also gets ignored.
But I guess I’m an outlier and that doesn’t count.
AoE mages are just like other players - and boxes of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.
It goes both ways. You can kill an AoE Mage as well
Loool.
I just had two AoE mages show up at the beach in Westfall and get shirty when I didn’t immediately stop killing crabs.
The reputation is well deserved.
You lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas.
That’s not my style, but I understand the impulse.
Wow.
We’ve each related personal anecdotes but yours is more relevant than mine even though I acknowledged with my Gumpism that selfish players do happen as well.
But no. To the SweepingGeneralizations-mobile!
lol
Would a hug help, friend?
Get in, loser. We’re going shopping hunting.

Need some food or water?
I mean that’s not the absolute worst thing.
You could also get everyone around you killed at the same time.
Or taking this even further the spell animations cause your graphics card to overheat and brick your computer.
