It would be nice if instead of proccing from melee damage, it just procced from damage. This way it would be much more useful for Elemental.
Wouldn’t that just randomly reduce our next spell cast’s casttime, where it would never stack up for an instant spell?
So you’d just get randomly shorter casts… which would likely have damage taken away from the spec to allow for.
Eh… no thanks. I could see it if you limited it to healing spells (all of one healing spell…), but it still feels not worth the effort.
Elemental already has quite a few instant cast spells tho, having maelstrom weapon would really only apply to lightning bolt and healing surge, and elemental really only uses lightning bolt when you take stormbringer (so I could see it being useful here so you wouldn’t have to take that talent) and for healing surge it would be useful because of how interruptable that spell is. It would give the spec some more survivability, but would make it too similar to enhancement and honestly probably better than enhancement at its own game. Everything would be instant cast and you wouldn’t need to build anything up with your melee spells.
