Brand New Elemental Shaman here and I had a bit of a rotational question involving maelstrom capping.
When running M+ and setting up my aoe rotation, I find myself facing a choice. After casting Lava Burst to set up a Master of Elements buff for a stormkeeper-empowered chain lightning, I will almost always be maelstrom capped from all the overloads. I typically then just dump the maelstrom into a normal earthquake, but is that the right call or should I instead cast another lava burst for Master of Elements to buff the Earthquake even if I lose out on the maelstrom generation from LB?
While my question is mostly focused on the importance of not capping maelstrom, below is my general setup for my aoe in case I’m doing something else wrong.
Lava Burst into Flame shock
Alternate Chain Lightning and Lava Burst until I have enough maelstrom for EQ.
Earthquake
Flame shock
Liquid Magma Totem
Primordial Wave
Stormkeeper
Lava Burst
Alternate Earthquake and Lava Burst until Im down to near 0 maelstrom
Lava Burst
Instant Chain Lightning 1
Alternate Earthquake and Lava Burst until near 0 maelstrom
Lava Burst
Instant Chain Lightning 2
Continue building and spending while trying to maximize master of the elements.
I typically like to use Surge of Power on Flame shock, but I’m definitely not yet at the comfort level of tracking that I always have 6 flame shocks out at once.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated
