Maelstrom Bug

I’ve only experienced it once before but does anyone know what triggers the maelstrom bug?

I’ll randomly be stuck at 10 maelstrom and be able to insta cast lightning bolt/etc but its not spending maelstrom and its hitting as if im not spending any maelstrom.

I tried reloading mid key and that didnt fix it and relogged and that seemed to fix it. Any way to avoid this from happening?

i’ve had this happen too, in tww s2. no idea why it happened, but it was fun, just jumping around spamming chain lightning lol

sure its nice its insta casting but its hitting for like nothing since its not actually spending maelstrom. Bizarre.
