Any tips for camping the mad merchant? Does rare scanner still work and alert you if it spawns and you’re in another zone?
Keep an eye on the LFG to see if anyone lists it. If so, sign up if you’re in their respective zone. There is chromie time on / off + warmode on / off so keep that in mind!
You can check in 4 different phases that way, chromie time on wm off, chromie time on wm on, chromie time off wm off, chromie time off wm on

the /2 chat is so dead on my realm cluster that when someone mentions that Mad Merchant is up, they’re not crying wolf. i got the spider mount and the other 500k item off him back in December and haven’t paid any attention since

Join one of the mount discords, that’s how I got my spider mount. 2m gold out the window! Time to make it back.

Join the secrets finding discord and attach to the mad merchant announcement emoticon to be notified. Rare scanner add-ons won’t work on it unless you manually add the npcid and hover over him thus making them useless.

I still run Legion missions for the rep tokens to send to my alts, and every time I use the Dalaran hearthstone I’ll just run to his spot and check. Checked it several times a day this way, and after a few weeks he spawned and I got the mount.
