Macros randomly stop working

My macros randomly stop working. I’ve noticed that sometimes if I try to use my hearthstone in my bag, it won’t activate and I need to place it on my bars and click it for it to work. When this happens my macros also stop working. I’ve provided a short video clip of my macros stopping working as well as the list of all my addons, which is very few.

No idea what’s causing it, but this has been happening for a while now. Any help would be appreciated.

I downloaded wowupio and the latest updates from some of the addons are from a while ago.

It wouldn’t be that. Do you have any custom targeting in your macros?

same format I use for all my focus macros. They all work until it seems that my UI just breaks. No macros work if it “breaks”

edit: it also seems to be duration based. I just finished an arena match where my macros didn’t work. When I got out of the match the macros still didn’t work. I made a few posts on this topic asking for help and now they work. I have no idea what’s going on

Actually i’ve noticed this as well. I have a macro to dispel and cast slow fall on my mage and sometimes randomly it just doesn’t work resulting me in plummeting to my death :expressionless:. Just started happening in patch 9.2.

I know that there’s an issue that can cause the WoW client to think your alt key is still pressed sometimes when you alt-tab out of the game and back in. This happens to me periodically, and the solution is just to tap the alt key to toggle it off.

I could see where this would affect macros, but usually no keybinds of any kind work when it’s stuck this way (unless they bound with an alt-modifier), and the client will give you an “Invalid Target” message on-screen.

I’m trying to remember how I set it up, but I know that I’ve got it set so that alt+spell is cast at focus, no macro needed.

EDIT: see the post above this, it’s probably right.

I’ll test it out and see if I can’t force the issue to happen when I enter a new instance. ty

I should clarify that this only happens randomly. I tab out of the game constantly and it very rarely happens. I haven’t figure out if there’s a way to force it, but there have been several times it’s happened repeatedly in a short period.

My guess, which may very well be wrong idk :slight_smile: , is it could be something taint related. Taint is a wee bit complicated to explain but just think of it as a different type of error message. Install these two addons
