Macros Not Saving After Log Out

Your save button for Macros is bugged as hell. It is infuriating to spend hours setting up macros only to have half of them disappear the second you log out. This has been an issue for years with a plethora of reports. Please fix your game.

New player here that made a macro yesterday. I logged in and they were gone. Thought I did something wrong but Google says this is an on-going issue. Really annoying as I’m learning rotations and my macros disappear…

If your connection to the server isn’t properly closing, then it will not save the macros or other CVAR changes you make. If you want to make sure they save, in the future, you can type /reload before logging out just to make sure. Logging out normally does the same thing, but if it doesn’t complete correctly, then it won’t save the changes and macros. The same thing will happen if you get DC’d or if the game crashes to desktop. It has always been this way.

You might want to double check your connection stability to the WoW servers. If WoW is playing normally, most of the time, then you’re going to want to check your firewall settings to make sure it isn’t blocking connections on one of the various ips/ports that WoW uses. So to test this, disable any non-windows firewalls you have going on your PC and/or router/modem, log into WoW and try it.

Looks like it is an ongoing issue. It also happens with chat channels. Every single time i log on, my newbie chat is on /1.

It would appear with the anniversary celebration this has gotten worse. I’m now having to go into the WTF\Account(Accountname)(realmname)(Charactername) folder and renaming the macros-cache.old to macros-cache.txt as the game seems to be saving to the .old file instead of the .txt
