I am not able to find anything about this and I wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing it or if it is expected with the patch.
When I move a macro from my macro list to the action bar it changes to a different macro. As an example, I have a macro to use tricks of the trade on a focus Target. I move the macro to my bar and it switches to my old tainted core macro. Anyone else experiencing this issue with macros?

Are you sure it’s not just the icon that changes?

All of my macros are workikg as they did before

The icons are all messed up too but yes it’s the actual macro. I was thinking it was just the icon, tried to tricks a tank and started yelling about a tainted core. Switched it out again and it changed to a Holy Pally macro.
All of my addons from before and after the pre-patch are working as expected.

My addons are ok, it’s the actual in game macros that seem broken.
Meant to type macros, but my addons are also working yes.
Have you tried with all of your addons disabled? I had issues with editing my macros since pre-patch an disabling all my addons fixed that. Still not sure which addon was causing this issue.
Copy/paste the macro in a new macro slot and see what happens? Or clear WoW cache or, shivers, wipe the WTF folder?
Interesting. I have a lot for several different classes. Maybe it was too many and they were jumbled with a database update.
It could be some jumbling; I have macros across five characters though and I utilize both the shared and character-specific ones.
It seems like a me issue so I will try to fix it. Cleaning out old macros will be a good starting point. Thanks
My macros all broke. I had a /click
before a /cast
, and the /click
isn’t working.
I believe that /click isn’t a thing anymore. f
Try the usual troubleshooting steps:
- Exit game delete cache folder, try again
- Disable addons, try again
- Do a full UI reset and try again

don’t forget cursor macros not going on the cursor
Hmm, I have several hover over and click macros but I don’t use them anymore. I wonder if just having them is causing an issue.
Been there, done that. Unfortunately, it didn’t help.
I hope not. Do you know of any references to this being true?
Ya would be nice to verify. I have /click macros that are not working as well. The /click function still works if you just type it out though and performs as expected, but inside a macro it just skips over that /click line and moves to the others so I doubt /click is disabled all together and think its just a bug that needs fixing. Sorta glad to see other people are having the issue though, means its likely not the addon and rather the game, unless you’re all using EMA as well.

I have no idea what EMA is so I can confirm I am not using it.
