Macros and addons

I’ve been spoiled by Neuron action bars. Infinite bars. Infinite buttons per bar. Macros written directly in the buttons, meaning infinite macros. State-aware bars without using complicated bar-paging (e.g. you select the states for the bar to be different and it changes when your state changes, such as stealth, stances, forms, alt, ctrl, etc). Also effective profiles, meaning if I assign my shaman profile to a new shaman character, the bar configurations including keybindings and spell/macro assignment populate the exact same.

Unfortunately, for 10.0, the developers are on " an indefinite hiatus". I’ve been making due with just using the ElvUI bars and the default macro interface, but having some issues.

  1. Having to make tons of macros for all of my states, (e.g. alt, stealth, form, stance, etc.) so I can drop them into actionbar buttons.
  2. Frequently spending a lot of time to get some complex macros to get things like [@cursor, mod:alt] kinds of casts to work.
  3. Macros not carrying over for multiple toons of the same class without dumping them in the limited general tab.
  4. Profiles not pulling over things like spell assignments on actionbar buttons.
  5. Unitframes having limited bouquet options.

Just from past history, I suppose I could go:
Bartender
Grid (maybe VuhDo)
Clique (already using)
…and at this point, I might as well do addonskins and dump ElvUI to lighten the load since I’m only using ElvUI to skin the interface at that point.

I’ve used them in the past, but man, the work to configure everything, especially with how many alts I like to play, is significant.

Looking for suggestions on addons that handle profiles well for actionbars, unitframes and (MORE) macros, primarily. Super bonus points for easy configurations like importable wago profiles, etc. Thanks in advance.

Mega Macro is what I found after Neuron went down. It allows for more macros. Also allows for general, class, spec, and player specific macros.

Nothing as good as Neuron, but it helps.

Thanks. I downloaded that one too. The problem is, it fubar’d my clique. When I opened the Clique binding window, it would get stuck and I had to reload to close it. The clique bindings weren’t working all of the time either. Disabling Mega Macro fixed Clique. Unfortunately, I need clique, unless I go to VuhDo, but I like Grid2 more. Better options on bouquet placement, IMO.

Tried out bartender. Not only does it have the same problem where the profiles don’t remember spell assignments on the bars, it also does not have native cooldown fading. You can enable the Blizzard cd text on the buttons, but not fade them. So, ElvUI bars are, IMO, at least one nice feature better than bartender, so I’ll just keep those over adding an extra addon. Still in search for a superior bar mod, though.

I really appreciate the feedback. Let me know if you find something else cool.

I found a macro addon from the maker of OPIE. It’s called M6. It makes an alert in WindTools go nuts, but it looks like it may work. Still testing compatibility.

I was able to disable the alert in Windtools by going to the Advanced section of it.

Right now I’m using ElvUI bars as well. They seem to work best to fit my needs. I’ll check out M6.

Thanks
