so i’m at a CR where no one thinks voice is necessary in 3s and i need help with targets.
We will often pick a “kill target” in the starting room but sometimes things change mid fight and i know i should be able to just notice and adapt but sometimes i’ll still be on opposite target as my partner.
is there a macro i can make that will target whoever my partner is targeting?
something like
/tar @player2
/tar targetstarget
(just a rough example of what im looking for, need help with proper formatting)
not sure if something like this could be made to work in one button press. hopefully someone gets what im trying to ask
#showtooltip Judgment
/cast [harm,nodead][@targettarget,harm] Judgment
Thats used for a specific spell though, and doesn’t actually change your target though, will just throw whatever spell at whatever your partner is targeting without actually changing your target.
Give me a second I’m half asleep and trying to think of which macros they are. I’ll log into a couple of accounts and test em rq then update with the results.
update after going through my library of macros (which I think I got em all?):
If you have no spells mixed in:
/assist party1
if you’re in a 2v2 will make you target whatever your other party member is targeting
if you’re in a 3v3, that will do the second player in your name list.
if you want to target what the 3rd player in your party list is use:
/assist party2
If you want to throw spells in there a (basic) macro is:
#showtooltip Putspellhere
/assist party1
/cast Putspellhere
MAKE SURE ASSIST IS FIRST IF NOT IT WILL TRY TO CAST FIRST MEANING YOU HAVE TO HIT THE BUTTON TWICE… I FOUND THIS OUT THE HARD WAY!
The /assist will you target the player’s target.
This method is good if you are already targeting your team mate and want to target what they are. But if you’re targeting your enemy teammate, it will target whatever they are targeting, making the macro a little weird.
You can substitute party1 or party2 with focus and create a /mouseover focus macro to change it but you have to reset that each arena…
I hope that helps! =)

all suggestions here are feasible but i’d add that, if you can, maintaining a visual / strong awareness of what your partner is doing while using 123 macros should preclude the need for assist macros; i’m open to any information to the contrary, that’s just what i’ve observed through guides and streams and my own experience
if playing double melee 3s and queueing into double melee comps I could see how this might be more of a task tho
