Macro pillar of frost to every ability?

Is there a reason not to do this? 1 min cooldown and almost a “buff” like warriors battle shout.

Why sandbag it/micro manage it? At least for casual play.

If you’re only concern is casual play, then fire away. But if you’re doing any type of content that progresses you, you’d do well to control when you use POF. Namely, when you need line it up with other cooldowns like empowered rune weapon or on use trinkets. In certain boss fights youll have damage windows where you want your CD’s aligned properly. Also, you wouldnt want to pop POF when you have no runes as this would be a waste and you wouldnt be able to consume killing machine procs during obliteration.

The two talents we use on the final row, Obliteration and Breath of Sindragosa, are very reliant on PoF to do good damage. Using it off CD when you aren’t ready to play the rotation required by those talents causes you to waste both PoF and the talent. The only exception is when Icecap sees play (The last time it did was 8.3). In that case, you hit it whenever it was up.

Late reply but is this still the case? FDK cooked without having Pillar separate (and then 3 -4 extra buttons for macros now)

For Obliteration if you’re trying to min/max you generally want a macro with each KM trigger, so a Pillar + HB, FS, GA, and SR macro. Outside of that you don’t really need macros of that extent for casual play.
