I play on an RP server and one of my characters is a fortune teller, I’d use a few variations on the same macro that would essentially boil down to “/e draws ” from a prewritten list spread across a few separate macro buttons because of both character limit and to make sure my tarot card reading gnome wouldn’t draw Death three times in a row.
I found the macro on forums forever ago and it served me well, especially as I have almost no idea how coding language works myself, but the gnome was kind of put on the shelf as I did shadowlands content and prioritized other characters for the grind. But I came back to her in the first time for Shadowlands and found her emote macros nonfunctional which kind of derailed the RP I was in. For posterity an example of the full emote
/run SendChatMessage(GetRandomArgument(“draws Death.”,“draws Death, turned.”,“draws The Wheel.”,“draws The Wheel, turned.” ,“draws The Empress”,“draws The Empress, turned.” ,“draws Lovers.” ,“draws The Lovers, turned.”),“EMOTE”
This would result in “Gnome draws The Wheel, Turned” or any such variation and then I could use one of the other macros to round it all out and not get any duplicates, but it seems to no longer want to work.
From everything I could find it’s because SendChatMessage commands are no longer supported? Is there a way to fix this problem, a workaround in the language or an alternate macro that can give me the random response emotes?
