Macro for addon

Is there a way to write a macro that would open and close an addon?
For example, I would like a macro that would open BtWQuests and put the icon in a action bar slot. I have done a google search on this topic, but can’t find anything.

From the addon’s page on Curseforge:

/btwquests - Show/hide the main UI

so you would just save a macro for /btwquests and that should do it

I would like to open it without have to mouse up to the clock, click a button so I could click on BtWQuests. For me, this would be easier and faster for checking/finding the next quest or chain of quests.
Also does anyone know of a good 2024 tutorial for creating macros? The videos I have found are out of date, and some of the functions in the tutorials don’t work because of all the updates (or it could just be me). The same goes for Weak Auras (what they say about glow doesn’t work, even though I constantly pause the videos to perform the step that should make the glow work.

Eidel literally told you want to do.

BtWQuests has a chat command that you can type to open it → /btwquests So if you type that into your chat line it will open the menu. All you have to do is put /btwquests into your macro and it will work.

Eidel solved it, but here’s some step-by-step instructions in case you’re still stuck.

  1. Type /macro into your in-game chat to open up the macro manger.
  2. Click the “New” button.
  3. Give your macro a name and a comfy icon. Click “Okay”.
  4. In the text field, enter /btwquests and click “Save”.
  5. Drag the macro icon onto your bars.
  6. Then they’ll all be sorry! Oops :flushed:
