So I’ve been trying to improve my DPS recently and have had some success by switching to a Logitech G600 mouse (with programmable keys). I’ve used a wireless compact mac keyboard for years and was wondering if other Mac players have found a keyboard that improves performance/key response rate without having to redo all the key modifiers (I tried it on a logitech G613 with no success
)
So I figured I’d ask the community for some advice/suggestions of what keyboards Mac players are using?
The only manufacturer that im aware of that has software for MacOS these days is Razer.
AFAIK, none of the other big names have native software, though there may be 3rd party apps that let you do that. I haven’t gamed on my Mac in literally a decade, so im a bit behind on what might be available 3rd party wise.
But Razer has native support and the app is basically identical to the PC version.
In MacOS’ native preferences you can also re-assign Alt, the WIndows Key, and Control (on any “Windows” keyboard) so that they do MacOS-ey things instead (usually by swapping the Windows Key (which acts as CMD) and Alt so that the Alt performs the CMD function and the Windows key becomes Alt (like it is on a native Mac keyboard).
What was the problem with the G613?
I use the G610 and dual boot between MacOS and Windows without any serious issues.
I do have the Logitech software installed on both sides (there is a Mac version.)
I’m not doing a dual-boot and when I tried to change the key modifiers to change the Windows key to the Apple key it wouldn’t work (at least command+Tab wasn’t cycling through the running applications like it should).
I actually never tried to switch them myself. I just got used to the Apple key now being the Windows key and being swapped.
Works fine on every keyboard i have in the house. Razer, Corsair, junky no-name, and a logitech wireless combo (kb/trackpad) i use for my HTPC.
Thanks for the suggestion and input. Very greatly appreciated!
I ended up getting the Razer Naga Trinity and the Chroma. I was going to test those today in Raid but… we’ll see if we can actually log in at any point.
I had the Logitech Multibutton mouse but found that it’s a bit slower than the Razer.
My personal favorite is the Corsair K-series keyboards like the K70 or K95 combined with the open source drivers off github:

Cherry MX Browns ftw.
