Whenever I try to pvp or raid, my laptop freezes for 5-10 seconds. Sometimes even shuts my laptop completely down. Before this patch I didn’t have a single problem for 2-3 months. wtf is this bs

I’m windows and could run it great before the patch.
Now I need to have everything else closed or the game stutters and freezes every few seconds.

Maybe it’s the same thing that happened to WoW Classic a while back. I had the exact same issues plus, sometimes, I logged in and WoW Classic crashed my Macbook after the loading screen.
I think it eventually got fixed but never acknowledged.
Why don’t you buy Windows? Windows 10 is 10/10 excellent experience with every game ever.
Fellow Mac user !!! Can’t say I’ve run into this issue tbh 8.3 seems to be fine for me, a little random laggy that wasn’t there before but I just assume it’s everyone Bcz I’ll be in a bg or someone in general will comment on it too
I’m getting some random MASSIVE lag spike in dungeons almost got me killed !
To be fair we all have our preferences, I have my MacBook Pro and iMac for things other than gaming and I think the OP was just wondering if other Mac users were experiencing this / wanting to make it known for Blizzard on the Mac user end of things
I just wonder why people still buy mac for gaming, when it’s known to excel at working related stuff? Everytime I see a “somethings wrong with my game”, a great deal of the time it’s linux or mac.
But it’s not a Mac V PC debate all the time when people say they have and use their Macs , we who use them understand why we like it, Blizzard supports it, and we aren’t bothering you / if you prefer windows that is great!
To the OP again I really just notice random lag that wasn’t there before but I just assume it’ll even out??

I don’t play on windows because I have my Mac for other reasons, not just for Wow. Computers don’t just revolve around this game. Also just posted this to see if anyone else had the same issues, thanks for the feedback… looks like I’m not the only one. Hopefully blizz fixes this soon. Weird how I never had a problem ever until this patch. These 5-10 seconds screen freezes during pvp is really irritating me #MacsMatterToo !

Sounds more like an issue on the users end from what I’m gathering from this thread.
Sounds like addons may be an issue.
Check your settings. The patch changed the graphics settings for some of my guildmates.

I had to update my graphics driver to play the patch (which really isn’t an issue) but I’m having no problems playing. Windows 10, though. The game is on a high speed USB drive (because I don’t have an SSD big enough). Runs like an SSD. No lag. High frame rate. 
Noticed my graphics settings were updated after the patch to recommended, which was lower than before the patch. Tried playing bg’s with all 4 resolution scales to test it out, and i’m still getting screen freezes non stop with each resolution scale I tried playing with. Didn’t have any other windows open with wow playing either, and still getting lag spikes. it has to be on blizzard’s end, not the users right? 8.3 is bullsh*t, Not sure what to do here.
I’m having the same issue, however I resolved it by disabling addons, many aren’t updated yet since the patch just dropped. For me bartender04 was the big culprit

I have no add ons, =/
yep, it worked for maybe two minutes and now back to freezing my mac. Im gonna try to reinstall and see if that fixes anything.
