Mac update "paused" every time I exit WoW

Mac Ventura 13.7.1 Intel Mac mini 2018 w/ 64GB RAM

Several times a day, when I exit WoW, Battle-Net (all by itself) indicates that WoW needs an update. The update is PAUSED.

To play, I must #1 hit the unpause button. #2 wait, wait, wait for it to figure out there is no update. This finishes. The “Play” button is now blue. BUT… #3 I get this message:

Whoops! Looks like something broke. You could try restarting battle, net. [OK]

More help: BLZBNTAG00001393

and #4 I hit [OK]. I do not restart b,net. #5 I hit the blue Play button and I’m back in game.

The rest I can live with. My main concern is the “paused” state of the update. Can battle, net just autostart? No game is running. Not even Cities Skylines LOL.

FWIW, unrelated a few times a day the WiFi network disappears, my Mac searches for WiFi networks and reconnects in a minute or two. Could this glitch Battle, net?

This has been happening to a lot of mac users for a while. I think it started with me at TWW launch. Extremely annoying, but I’ve found no fix and no blue posts ever comment on the issue. Probably because Microsoft owns them now so mac users are kicked to the curb.

I believe the issue has to do with file folders. This last update same was happening to me. Now I am locked out of game getting the stupid internet connection error. In reality the new Key ring was either trying to be loaded in a locked folder, or in my case the sub-folder did not exist and no new key ring was loaded. No I cannot do anything as I cannot get the key ring.
This has been happening for years. I figured out the issue…but Blizz has been zero help. Once the new key ring becomes available the issue mysteriously goes away as the next folder will exist or unlocked for the key ring to be loaded.
