I don’t know why none of you are posting settings/configurations. One person even said “that doesn’t matter”
if you know anything about QA and reproduction, EVERYTHING matters. I’m telling you I can’t reproduce this, Qa cant reproduce this on same hardware so SOMETHING is different and until we figure out what that is, it’ll continue going unfixed. Fastest way to get it fixed is to share every single detail no matter how minute to try and find out what the missing piece of puzzle is.
If people continue posting “me to” without any meaningful information one thing I can promise is it will be fixed much much slower.
Hardware most of you are posting.
OS version some of you are posting
settings none of you are posting. Please post every detail possible

Dragonflight is live and the problem is still there.
The problem did not occur under Monterey, right? My Mac had Ventura Pre-Installed, so i dont know it.
Anyone? Im thinking about a downgrade.

Monterrey is not having this annoying bug
Okay, im going to make a downgrad
Thx for the Information.
Good luck to all who are suffering from this Bug
Also please test one thing! I changed cursor size from standard 64x64 on 32x32. Try to change it also because after this cursor starts disappearing while right clicking. Also to see flickering in interface you need to right click (hold right button) then turn camera left or right and release right button, then ui flickers

Good info scorpy, gives me some theories to try
Humor me Scorpy and try this
/console CursorFreelookStartDelta 0
this will remove the UI delay before mouse turning camera. If this is when you see flicker, maybe eliminating delay will eliminate flicker

It is worse now ) Before I entered this command left and right clicking in world was not causing cursor disappearing and appearing (and no flickering) Only after camera moving while holding mouse I saw flickering bug. So after this command EVERY right and left click causes this flickering bug and cursor appearing disappearing after pressing left or right mouse. So basically if we somehow remove cursor disappearing while clicking - this problem will be fixed. Also in raid group (while ui changes to raid ) this bug also disappears
If the command made it worse, you can look for it in your config.wtf file and delete that line to revert the behaviour back to what you had before. Basically, with zero delay between click and UI alterations (disappearing cursor), what happens is because you’re moving the mouse just a tiny hair when clicking, something that can’t be avoided by human hands in most cases, you get the issue every time you click. At least with the delay left in place it only happens once the UI makes the cursor disappear on mouselook.
At least we know now for sure that the trigger point is the point at which the UI would view the click as a hold (which is why Omegal had you try this in the first place). Now the problem will be figuring out what actually causes the flickering itself.
It does narrow scope of where problem is yes. I still haven’t had time to test Scorpy’s graphics settings yet to see if I can actually trigger bug on my macbook pro.
One thing does stand out though. Problem goes away in a raid. so then used addons might actually matter here. if raid frames make it go away, then it could be a stock UI bug when out of raid when using a certain addon… like maybe the flicker is an actual bug in an addon or even stock ui (I don’t use stock literally anywhere, even out of raid so if it’s a stock ui bug, then i wouldn’t see it.
Been fixating on it being a graphics bug since flicker sounded like it was entire screen not just UI.
I’ll try retesting using stock ui instead of addons, but again it might be days before I do. Blizzard would have tested this with stock ui though so still think some other settings matter too. basically a whole lot of variables need to align for this one i’m guessing.
I tried everything to get rid of it, but without any success.
I tested the standard UI, i tested ELVUI and the problem will always be the same. I tried different resolutions…i tried a desktop matching resolution, i tried using my mouse connected via cable and dongle. I installed GHUB (software for my logitech mouse) and i tried it without any mousesoftware. The problem just wont go away.
I was in Nighthold a few minutes ago and i had the problem there too. So it doesnt have anything to do with being in a raid dungeon or in the open world.
Holding down the mousebutton must trigger something running in the background (MACOS related), because as you guys said it wasnt an issue at all under Monterey.
Having same problem on the M1 Max 16’ MBP. I spent hours removing all addons, setting every setting I could think of, different resolutions, clamshell mode with external monitor or internal - still there. Happens with our without vsync, etc.
Basically you right click repeatedly and FPS drops to a crawl. Mouse disappears and there’s stuttering in the frame rate - it visibly cuts out. Now in game play, I get a nice flash on the screen every 3-8 seconds if I’m using the mouse heavily.
Type of mouse doesn’t matter either. Bluetooth, 2.4ghz, etc. Interestingly enough, moving with keyboard arrows = no fps problem, no lag.
Things to note: This started happening with the late Oct build. My friend and I (both M1 Max owners) put in a bug. It’s been happening since then.
Good luck fixing this bug. It’s annoying.
Wow…i reinstalled Monterey and guess what? The Problem is still there! So it has something to do with WoW and not Ventura!!!
It must have been implemented with one of the latest WoW Updates and we were all thinking it is about Ventura…!!!
Edit: The black screen flickering at least has been gone, but the FPS are still dropping while moving the camera with the mouse.
You reinstalled wow also ? or copied from Time Machine ?
It is a complete fresh Installation, no backups used. Actually it is still installing, but i was already able to log in, while the game loaded the necessary assets.
Hi, I’ve noticed a FPS drop when rapidly clicking on my mouse in-game as well, both when V-Sync is on and off.
When I screen recorded this behavior in-game with the macOS tool, the extent of the FPS drop was decreased versus when I wasn’t screen recording.
V-Sync on:
Recording: drop from 60 FPS to ~54 FPS
Not recording: drop from 60 FPS to ~45 FPS
Screen capture: https://youtu.be/YrQ0IFdMO0k
V-Sync off:
Recording: drop from 180 FPS to ~108 FPS
Not recording: drop from 180 FPS to ~79 FPS

Just a warning to anyone else that considers doing this - don’t. Playing while downloading game assets almost always results in corrupted data files. CASC doesn’t like it when a game asset that isn’t yet downloaded and indexed has to be downloaded on the fly during an index build cycle. Unless you’re fond of having to use Scan and Repair, always wait for the installing/patching to complete before starting the game. This is one of the few variables that is totally within the player’s capability to control.

Thanks for creating those 2 Clips documenting this major Problem.
I really hope Blizzard is taking notice…never experienced something gamebreaking like this in 17 years of playing WoW…
Edit: Is there no Option / Macro which prevents the Cursor from disappearing? That would fix the Problem…

My iMac (Big Sur) confused as well and unable to complete the dragon flying related quests. It’s very annoying. I want my money back…
