Mac Mini M2 and WoW

Hello Community,

I’m about to buy a Mac Mini M2 (base not pro) 24gb RAM (the main usage for this one is work), and I’d like to know if anyone of you have played WoW Dragonflight/Classic in one of those. If so, is it playable? What’s your average FPS raiding (10 man / lfr)??

I normally use dbm, quartz and WA.

Thanks for your help.

If you’re purchasing this computer just to play WoW, I’d consider something else.

If you’re buying it for another purpose, based on the contents of that thread it will run it but won’t be ideal.

I’ve played WOW on a M1 Mac Mini with 16 GB of RAM. It played just fine and without problems. You should be fine with an M2 and 24 GB of RAM. Blizzard even provides a native Apple Silicon build for WOW.

You will probably have to set your graphics options lower for the Raid Profile though.

Hi owner of an M2, with a slightly lower spec than yours. (16gb memory, MBP 13 inch).

WoW runs great! There’s one random, relatively low impact observation I’ve made. For some reason on two Mac machine I’ve had including my current WoD Gorgrond/Talador is basically unplayable. Everything else including the current expansion works great, but just dropping that incase you have the same issue.

Raiding FPS was 100 which it’s capped at on my machine.

Good to hear, since I’m going to be upgrading my old MBP to one of the M2 models soon, and it will be nice to have wow playable on the go again.

I have put a ton of hours in on an M1 mini, and your M2 should be 20% or so faster.

Shadows and fluid graphics can be a little rough, but if you turn those down you’ll get a perfectly playable 1080p/1440p experience.
