Ever since Patch 10.2 launched, my Macbook M1 has been freezing before restarting constantly while playing. Sometimes its 5 minutes between restarts, sometimes its close to an hour. The issue persists across multiple computers, with or without any addons enabled, and after fresh reinstalls.
How I know the computer is about to crash is the screen freezes but the sounds from game or background music/videos continue for up to 30 seconds before the computer force restarts. I haven’t been able to reproduce what causes the game to crash since I’ve experienced it doing almost everything - combat, flying, jumping, walking, even being afk.
Anyone have similar issues/fixes? The crash reports all start with the same headline:
panic(cpu 0 caller 0xfffffe002945229c): DCP DATA ABORT pc=0x0000000000175ea0 Exception class=0x25 (Data Abort taken without a change in Exception level)

I’m having the same problem literally, but in my case I’m in my rog ally, with windows 11. I’ve optimized it thinking it was a fps issue, but it’s not the PC, is the update, I was reading online and it’s happened before on other updates they’ve done… guess it’s ready to raise a ticket or to wait until they keep fixing things.

There are a few odd issues with my macs after the update; ghost images, battlenet updating over and over or getting stuck - but luckily no problems like yours.
I did find the in-game issues were far less in older non-dragon isles zones. I am hoping they patch the bugs in the next day or two.
I have also had that too, ghost icon, etc

hi… anyone have an update … I have two MBP (16" w/M1 Max and wifes 14" w/M2 Max). The 16" w/M1 refuses to play more than about 5 sec’s before wow crashes. The 14" plays perfectly. This is maddening. I’ve looked at the settings between the 2 and they are identical. But right before the 16" crashes, I hear like “sound spike” or like speaker static for just a sec before it crashes . Can you launch wow retail through terminal ?
I have the same problem, is your mac running Sonoma or an older OS?
You might want to transfer this to the Technical forum, you are more likely to get Blue post help there.
Seems there is a memory leak affecting all Mac Users and it should be fixed soon.
