M4 Mac Mini Game crashes on ptr 11.1

I am consistently having an issue with game crashes on my M4 Mac Mini running the latest version of Mac OS sequoia. 15.2. I have no add-ons or custom profiles loaded for the PTR 11.1 and I am getting these crashes after I attempt to login into a character from the character selection screen. I have an older laptop that runs windows 11 and I have tested it there and the issue does not persist on that… So I have concluded this seems to be a mac only Issue… Are there any other mac users have this issue? Blizzard you had this issue before with PTR is there something that needs to be looked at again on your end or can I do something to fix it on mine other than the obvious of swapping to my windows laptop… Issue is that I’m a small content creator and I would like to make content on the upcoming season 2 raids (Which read like a lot of fun btw) but I am unable to run my stream and everything on my Laptop, because its old and not really up to date on specs. My mac is my main device for content creation and gaming. Please help. I would love to test PTR this weekend, but so far it looks like I might not be able too…

My crash occurs at the photosensitivity warning screen as soon as I launch the PTR version of the game. FWIW, immediately following the crash, the launcher attempts to update the game and fails and I have to restart the application. I am on an M3 iMac, also on latest version 15.2.

It crashed for me right at startup - the screen went black for about 5 seconds & then I’m back to the desktop. Tried uninstalling & reinstalling - then it crashed after the photosensitivity warning.

Ok, so I found a workaround that fixed my crashing issue.

  1. I installed the 11.0.7 PTR and launched that version of the game.
  2. I then copied my Interface, Logs, and WTF folder from the ptr folder and into the xptr folder.
  3. That’s it, when I launched the 11.1 PTR version of the game, it skipped the photosensitivity warning screen and look me straight into character select.

Hope it works for anyone else having a similar issue!

sadly this does nothing for the issue I have and is still reoccurring

I’m on an intel 2019 iMac with 13.7.2 and the game was crashing at the photosensitivity screen, as well. I tried the workaround to copy my folders from ptr to xptr that Paup mentioned above and was able to launch the game.

Edit: I kind of take it back, copying the settings only worked once and it crashed again upon launch the second time.
