Ever since updating to Ventura and Dragonflight pre patch my M1 Macbook Air has been performing worse. Namely more heat generation and frame drops.
Some tips to help others i have been testing.
Download an app called EasyRes from the AppStore. This app allows you to resize your resolution natively lower. For example i use 720p 1x.
From there, i have my settings at graphics quality 4, with depth, SSAO, and compute effects set to off.
My max fps i have set to 30fps running Metal Legacy. Metal seems to be creating more heat.
The one other element i have found with regards to heat is activating low power mode in the Apple Settings. This keeps the heat to what it was before Dragonflight pre patch.
